As a fashion editor, a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady and someone who has lived in East London for 14 years, I would say I'm in my element right now. Today, East London label House of Sunny has already won autumn, launching a capsule collection of not one, not two, but four cat jumpers and cardigans. And in my opinion, it's about time cats become the muse for more clothing, because as you're about to witness, they manage to make layering a lot more fun. I say this as a fully fledged summer person who usually doesn't like the thought of knitwear season (winter people, I know you won't understand this).

But while I want to hold onto my sandals, linen dresses and Adidas shorts until the weather no longer allows it, I've now been swayed into already buying my first autumn item. And yes, of course, it's one of the HOS jumpers that just so happen to be the most adorable knits I've ever seen. Some may say, they're purrfect – sorry, but there's definitely more feline puns to come.

Last autumn, the brand launched its 'For The Love Of Dogs' jumpers and cardigans, and as you can imagine, these sold out pretty quickly. And considering House of Sunny has always put sustainability at the forefront of its designs, it only creates small amounts of each item so as not to overproduce. Which is why there's only one hundred of each 'For The Love Of Cats' knit pieces available. With hundreds of people on the wait list since being teased about the edit earlier in the year, you'll have to be quick to get your claws into these.

And I have some good news for you: if you enter the code 'PRIORITY15' at checkout, you'll get 15% off the pre-order, for them to then arrive just in time for autumn in September.

Now back to the cats. It would be rude not to see the kitties who inspired each piece, so here's some of the cats who were part of the shoot. Move over Kate Moss, it's time to introduce Olive, Alfie and Zeus.

While a capsule autumn/winter wardrobe is essential, I'm all for the maximalist trend that's appearing for the upcoming season – having fun with fashion is the best way, and these House of Sunny jumpers are bound to put a smile on your face, and anyone who sees you wearing it. Unless you're a firm dogs-only person, that is, and in this case, you may want to check out Vintedor other resale sites to see if you can get your hands on the sold-out pooch styles from last year.

Cat people, get ready to see the knitwear you'll be living in over the next few months.

With a ginger tabby on the front and three kittens on the back, it's 360-degree cuteness. Personally, I would go full preppy and wear it fitted with a mini skirt, socks and loafers.

Sorry, but is this not the sweetest cardigan you've ever seen? The flower embroidered detail, the little covered buttons and the striped kitten making its way around your body to catch the string. Can't cope.

Got a beautiful ragdoll cat? Or know someone who has? Then this is the gift that'll give endless joy. Sitting pretty on a beige crewneck jumper, I would size up and wear it with capri pants and heels. Or jeans, or a skirt – basically, I'll be wearing it at any given opportunity.

We all know cats love a snooze (as do I, probably why we get on so well) so The Sleepy Cat cardigan is bound to be a bestseller. The cropped style will look so good worn with baggy jeans and ballet flats.
