Every Moment You May Have Missed From The Royal Wedding
By Rebecca Cope Posted on 26 Jan 2018
1.07pm: The kiss!
1pm:The couple have emerged and are making their procession through Windsor in their open-topped carriage, with the royal family waving them off.
12.40pm:And they’re officially married!
12.30pm: After a lengthy and energetic sermon from the Most Rev Bishop Michael Curry, the choir is performing ‘Stand By Me’, and the Grazia office is tearing up.
12.20pm: The Most Rev Bishop Michael Curry, head of the Episcopal Church, opened his speech with the words of Martin Luther King, saying: ‘We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we do that, we will be able to make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way.’
12.15pm: After the Archbishop of Canterbury performs the couples vows (prompting some giggles from the happy couple) Lady Jane Fellowes, the sister of Princess Diana, gives a reading.
12.10pm: ‘Entering into the British establishment, to choose a British designer was expected, but with so many great talents to choose from the questions has been who rather than British or not,’ said the BFC’s Caroline Rush. ‘Clare is a great talent and the dress looked incredible. So fantastic to shine a light on British talent at the helm of international businesses.’
12.02pm: In a statement, Kensington Palace said of the dress: ‘After meeting Ms. Waight Keller in early 2018, Ms. Markle chose to work with her for her timeless and elegant aesthetic, impeccable tailoring, and relaxed demeanour. Ms. Markle also wanted to highlight the success of a leading British talent who has now served as the creative head of three globally influential fashion houses – Pringle of Scotland, Chloé, and now Givenchy.
‘True to the heritage of the house, the pure lines of the dress are achieved using six meticulously placed seams. The focus of the dress is the graphic open bateau neckline that gracefully frames the shoulders and emphasises the slender sculpted waist. The lines of the dress extend towards the back where the train flows in soft round folds cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza. The slim three-quarter sleeves add a note of refined modernity.’
12pm: And after months of speculation, the bride is wearing Givenchy by Clare Waight Keller.
She is also wearing Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, which was lent to her by the Queen.
The flower girls’ dresses are also by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, while the pageboys are wearing a miniature version of the Blues and Royals frockcoat, with their initials in gold on their shoulder straps.
12pm: Meghan Markle has arrived!
11.56am: The flower girls were next, accompanied by their mothers, including the Duchess of Cambridge, with the children waving out of the window adorably. The Duchess is wearing a yellow wool silk tailored coat by Alexander McQueen, which she has two other occasions - the Queen’s birthday and Princess Charlotte’s christening.

10.51am: 24-year-old student Victoria Mcrae from Sydney, Australia, came over by herself after buying a real wedding dress for the occasion. ‘I have a boyfriend but he wouldn’t indulge this so I came alone,’ she said. ‘His mum helped me choose my wedding dress. I tried to go for a Princess Diana vibe. I need Harry to know if things fall through I’m here for him. It cost me £2k to come over but it’s the price I’ll pay for love. I just love Harry so much, I’ve proposed every time I’ve met him. I suppose you could say its obsessive. But this is the last hurrah and so I wanted to go out with a bang.’

‘I planned this trip the minute they made the engagement announcement,’ explained Dominique Mota, a 44-year-old hospital administrator from El Paso, Texas. ‘I just love the idea of the royal family still existing here. I really mourned when Diana died - my dog is called Lady Diana.
‘I was up at 5am today and I’m super excited. I came over for Prince William’s marriage too. It’s much more exciting than a friend or family member getting married. I wouldn’t fly across the world for that! My husband thinks I’m strange.’
