Silly us for assuming that all the drama between Miles Nazaire and Maeva D’Ascanio had been resolved in the six years since their split. Yep, despite the fact that their three-year relationship ended in 2018 and that Maeva is now a married woman and mother of one, there’s still seems to be some unfinished business between Miles and Maeva.

Earlier this week Made in Chelsea released the trailer for the 28th series, getting us all excited for our fave reality show’s return. And it was juicy.

Amidst a surprising return from Sophie Hermann, as well as Tristan Phipps and Sam Vanderpump fighting over yet another girl, it was the seeming love triangle between Maeva, her husband James Taylor and Miles that peaked our interest.

The trailer opens with a clip of Miles admitting that he’s received a voicenote from Maeva, quickly followed by a separate clip of James saying that he will fight for his family… Now we don’t want to jump to conclusions, but that seems pretty cut and dry to us.

But before we work out what’s going on now, let’s go back to the beginning of Maeva and Miles' relationship.

When did Miles Nazaire and Maeva D’Ascanio date?

We never actually got to see Miles and Maeva’s relationship play out on Made in Chelsea because the pair split in 2018 after three years, just before they both joined the show.

Why did Miles Nazaire and Maeva D’Ascanio break-up?

Well, this is where Maeva’s husband of nearly a year, James Taylor, comes into it.

Speaking on his podcast Playtime which he shares with Love Island’s Charlie Radnege in 2022, Miles admitted, ‘There's a lot of rumours that I broke up with Maeva for the show - that's just not true. A lot of people don't actually know what happened. Everyone is judging from what they've seen on TV and that's not even half of it - it was just the ending.

‘I went on the show two months after the break-up with Maeva. There wasn't a cheating scandal or anything like that we were just not meant for each other. I was the one who initiated the breakup because I was really unhappy.'

Now you’ll remember that way back when Miles first joined Made in Chelsea, he was introduced as James’ BFF – a friendship that soon crumbled when it was revealed that James had started sleeping with Maeva not long after her break-up with Miles.

Naturally that meant there was no going back for Miles and James’ friendship, nor for Miles’ relationship with Maeva. Or was there?

Did Miles Nazaire and Maeva D’Ascanio ever rekindle their relationship?

Not officially no. But, in series 23 when Maeva decided to propose to James – which he actually rejected in some of the most awkward scenes on MIC – there was a lot of drama over the role that Miles still played in her life.

Then, in more recent series, fans also weren’t happy with the meddling role that Maeva played in Miles’ relationships (we’re thinking mainly of Issy Francis-Baum here although it's happened on many occasions).

When James eventually proposed to Maeva during their romantic trip around Europe, it seemed that Miles and Maeva were over for good.

What happens between Miles Nazaire and Maeva D’Ascanio in season 28 of Made in Chelsea?

Cut to 2024 however and the trailer for the upcoming series suggests that there’s still some unfinished business there, but we’ll have to watch the upcoming series to find out why exactly Maeva sent Miles a voicenote and what the contents of said voicenote were…
