Casa Amor and Movie Night might be done and dusted, but that's not to say the next helping of Love Island drama is far off. Tonight's episode will see the return of the staple challenge Snog Marry Pie, and if previous years are anything to go by, it is going to ruffle some feathers.
The premise is what it says on the tin. The girls and boys take it in turns to pick which islander they would like to snog, marry and pie respectively (and the first and latter, literally).
So, ahead of some serious lipsing and pieing, we have taken a look at how eyebrow-raising decisions have played out in previous years.
Season 4
Megan Barton-Hanson had previously been linked to Eyal Booker, but there was no love lost between them during this challenge. Megan chose to kiss Wes Nelson, who at the time was coupled up with Laura Anderson.
The boys commented on Laura's reaction, saying, 'That has p*ssed Laura off. She’s not happy.'
The Scotswoman said it was 'annoying' because Wes would probably choose to kiss Megan when it was his go, which ended up being the case.
'It was only a little peck, but I couldn't look,' Laura confessed in the beach hut.
When it came to Eyal, he pied Megan and smooched Ellie Brown. The former was less than pleased, branding him a 'p*ick'.
In a less dramatic unfolding, Samira Mighty was slightly agitated that Georgia Steel seemed to go back for more during her kiss with Sam Bird, making her feelings clear in the beach hut by saying 'ugh'.
Season 5
Oh Anton Danyluk had such a way with words. It was one thing picking Anna Vakili to kiss instead of Belle Hassan - whom had put him in the doghouse on multiple occasions - but it was his reasoning that was the tip of the iceberg: Anna had been, in his view, the best kisser in a previous challenge.
'Come at me with a ring I f*cking dare you,' Belle reacted.
When Anton got down on one knee, she rejected, saying, 'I’m saying no. I don’t wanna marry you.' As he walked back towards the boys, she added, 'Well done, at my expense again.'
During a candid confession in the beach hut, Anton said that he'd seen a side of Belle that he didn't like.
Season 6
Even though Mike Boateng had previously pied Jess Gale, she still opted to kiss him during the challenge.
'She's got mug written all over her face,' said her then-partner Luke Mabbott in the beach hut.
Jess did pick Luke to marry, but it went down like a lead balloon. She said, 'You’ve been nothing but good to me,' to which he said, 'We might get divorced the same day.' He later called her a 'player'.
Season 7
Following one of the most dramatic Movie Nights in 2021, Snog Marry Pie was, surprisingly, relatively drama-free. Faye Winter did get pied three times, by Toby Aromolaran, Hugo Hammond and Aaron Francis, while Lucinda Strafford and Danny Bibby exchanged a few words.
'I'm not petty, and I don't like revenge either,' she uttered to him when it was her turn to pie. It came after he had pied her, saying, 'Treat them mean, keep them keen.'
Season 8
Paige Thorne was not a happy bunny when Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu kissed Adam Collard, calling him one of 'Ekin's boys'.
Airing her grievances in the beach hut, Paige reflected on the comment, saying, 'B*tch shut the f*ck up. Respectfully, like, ssh.'
Tasha Ghouripecked her Casa bombshell Billy Brown on the cheek in front of boyfriend Andrew Le Page, a decision, according to Gemma Owen, wouldn't go down well.
She went on to pie Luca Bish, who she said 'clearly isn't a good friend'.
Elsewhere, Indiyah Polack proposed to Billy. Dami Hope said it was something that hurt him later in the beach hut, before Indiyah pied him.
She said, 'I've got mad love for you, but I’m a petty a*se b*tch.'
Dami kissed Summer Botwe, whom he had coupled up with in Casa Amor. It was much to Indiyah's distaste, particularly when Luca quoted Dami's one-liner, 'Summer ain't over.'
Seeing red, Indiyah said, 'Are you joking? Shut the hell up,' before telling Dami she would throw his ring in the pool.
Billy was also in trouble with Danica Taylor after he proposed to Paige. 'That's f*cking rude,' the dancer snapped.
