The 'Queen of bombshells'Ekin-Su Cülcüloğluwon Love Island last year alongside her boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti - and they have only gone from strength to strength since. They couple recently moved in together and the actress has graced Times Square billboards and was even a Grazia covergirl. Ekin-Su stole the hearts of a nation and has a dedicated legion of fans that follow her every move. However, the reality star has emotionally revealed that transitioning back to normal life after the dizzying heights of instant fame wasn't as easy as it appeared.
Ekin-Su featured alongside season four Islander Joe Garratton a Reddit chat, where she revealed she doesn't have any friends left since appearing on the show. She admitted that she cut them off claiming they 'sold stories' on her. Ekin-Su said, 'I lost so many friends coming out. I don’t have any friends left because they sold stories on me.' Joe replied saying, 'Oh that’s so sad. Well, they weren’t real friends then.'
Ekin-Su then detailed the feeling of becoming an over-night star. She said, 'You've gone from a normal life to all of a sudden the press, you have people shouting your name, people crying over you. It's crazy. The celebs that you look up to all of a sudden tweet you, and you're like, "Oh my God."' Seeing the positive side of the situation, she added, 'But then you make new friends who understand you.'
She concluded her chat with a word of advice for listeners, 'Don't change who you are, don't get caught up in this ego where you think you're this celebrity so you should act a certain way and belittle people – you shouldn't.' Adding, We're all equal, I feel like even the people who clean the toilet, you should respect that person because we're all the same. Stay humble.'
Ekin-Su is currently appearing on Dancing On Icealongside her professional partner Brendyn Hatfield. Their opening performance sparked a lot of controversy and slut-shaming backlash. Her performance sparked 112 Ofcom complaints but she has since defended her outfit choice. She told The Sun, 'You know what? If you have ’em flaunt them. I mean if you’ve got a nice bum and you look sexy in a unitard, why not? Who cares?' However, the controversial performance landed her at the bottom of the leaderboard and she had to skate for survival. After winning the dreaded skate-off last week - Ekin-Su lives to fight another day!
