It's almost here! The brand new season of Winter Love Island arrives back on our screens next week and whilst we can't wait to see what drama a whole new cast will bring - it's the clothes we're most excited for. Partnering with eBay and pre-loved pro Amy Bannerman for the second consecutive season, Love Island contestants will be wearing a wardrobe carefully curated from pre-loved items.
Not only does this mean that the cast can now wear designer brands, but it also means that almost every outfit we'll see on screen will be vintage in an aim to expand the conversation on circular fashion. It won't surprise you that since the partnership began, searches for pre-loved fashion shot up by a whopping 1,600% (!) on the site.
eBay x Love Island first coupled up in August 2022 for season eight, which saw Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti crowned the winners. But it was runner-up Tasha Ghouri who won us over in the style stakes, stealing scenes with some real fashion moments (remember that Jean Paul Gaultier two-piece??). And before you ask, no, the cast members aren't actually supposed to keep the clothes.
For season nine, the team is back to gift us more sartorial gold and we've been given a sneak peak into all the fashion trends we can expect to see in the villa...
Tutti Frutti
Bright, bold and beautiful. The Tutti Frutti trend, curated by Bannerman, is all about eye-popping colour and print. Keep an eye out for acid-bright Versace two-pieces, plenty of tie-dye, bomber jackets and, of course, the 'It' Poster Girl dresses of last season are back again. Tasha Ghouri's actual birthday dress (a pre-loved latex Versace number) will be winging its way to South Africa to be re-worn in the villa as part of this trend.

Poster-Girl cutout-dresses are back
Heavy Metal
A trend inspired by none other than pop-punk power couple Kourtney and Travis, Bannerman revealed. Keep your eyes peeled for leather (lots of it), chain-mail tops and oversized biker jackets. With this series taking place in South Africa, a January climate means leather is a go, with no risk of contestants getting sweaty (for all the wrong reasons) on hot dates. Stand-out pieces include a Paco Rabanne chain maxi dress and slinky chain-mail tops. Paris Hilton would be proud of.
This Paco Rabanne chain dress is a real showstopper
I.Am.Gia studded trousers will be a hit
Plenty of Y2K diamanté chainmail
Dressed-Up Denim
It's no secret that Islanders have a soft spot for denim hot pants. This season expect to see plenty of pre-loved denim (the best way to buy denim) throughout the series. Bannerman's team has selected oversized denim jackets for both the boys and girls along with customised denim short-shorts, denim crop tops and Y2K-style rinses - perfect for spring/summer '23.
We can't wait to see this KSUBI denim crop top on screen

Big love for this Versace Jeans Couture denim effect mini
Business Vs. Party
Think vintage tailoring, oversized blazers and neat waistcoats. For a Love Island take, smart jackets and trousers will be worn with sparkly bra tops and silky shirts. For the boys, it's all about relaxed but smart pieces, soft fabrics and lightweight button-downs. Look out for a Kate Moss for Topshop waistcoat that we think will be an Islander favourite.
Business but make it party
More Versace!
There was plenty of oversized pre-loved tailoring
Now, bring on the bombshells!
