In A Reformation Top, Phoebe Dynevor Just Showed Us The Perfect Summer Outfit

I promise I'm not complaining aboutthe weather. It's glorious. After a May full of storms, rain and frankly depressing temperatures, the very feel of sunshine on my skin is enough to make me weep tears of joy. But after a year spent with no plans, never really thinking about what to wear, here we all are faced with the return of our social lives as well as a heatwave. And while those lovely floaty dresses feel great at home (or indeedon holiday, if we get there), they feel a bit out of place if you either live in a city or are just popping to your local to meet friends.

Enter Phoebe Dynevor. The Bridgerton star was in London last night, showing off the perfect solution to what to wear in the city, in the evening, when it's still hot. No, it's not a groundbreaking formula – jeans and a top – but the top in question was the ideal choice. Thankfully, any one of us can repeat such success as it's available to buy from Reformation for £130. Phoebe's own blue version has sold out in most sizes but it is still available at Farfetch for £140.

Naturally, Phoebe's jeans were also bang-on. They were just loose enough to ensure there was no denim-stick situation (we've all been there) but structured enough to balance out the ruching of the top. On her feet, Phoebe wore Christian Louboutin's Belbrossa mules, which are essentially summer in a shoe.

To finish her low-key moment of sartorial excellence, Phoebe chose Missoma's £125 hoops, joining a very long list of celebrities loyal to the British jewellery brand.

And that, really, is all I have to say. What a great outfit. And one I wish I had worn when I happened to be at the same London location as Phoebe, in order to have dinner with a friend. Exasperated by the state of my wardrobe, I chose one of the aforementioned floaty dresses. Let's just say I should have either remembered the sheer power that can lie in the classic jeans-and-a-top combo, or I should have taken a leaf out of my own book and bought one of this year's best summer dresses.
