If there’s one thing I’ve learnt about myself (and my shopping habits), it’s that I’m a sucker for a great pair of tailored trousers. As much as I’m an avid fan of denim jeans in all forms - from classic blue to off-duty black washes - and love a swishy satin maxi skirt, over the years my workwear wardrobe has slowly become dominated by smart structured trousers that give me that put-together feeling. One thing I've learned in the process? The high street creates some of the very best.
I quickly came to the happy realisation that there’s no need to spend a fortune on trousers when high street favourites like H&M Zara exist. But it's the Relaxed Twill Wide-Leg Trousers from COS that have really caught my attention. For me, they've quickly become the answer to building a stylish work wardrobe, thanks to their great fit and versatility.

These grey trousers will become the backbone of your work wardrobe.
Crafted from a lightweight wool-blend twill material, these trousers blend sharp traditional tailored pleat details with wide legs, for a polished laid-back look. Want to accentuate the waist? Just use the adjustable tab hidden inside the waistband to alter your fit - a key detail that makes these COS trousers a true wardrobe winner. Striking the perfect balance between form and function, these trousers are just as suitable for the office as they are for off-duty days - depending on how you style them.
For the office, style them with a chic longline waistcoat that flatters and elongates the silhouette or a classic crisp white shirt. For more casual outings, opt for a simple cotton tee and retro trainers for a boyish, off-duty edge. When it comes to footwear, I’d recommend ballet flats with a pop of colour - butter yellow or ballerina pink work well for spring – transitioning seamlessly into summer, when breathable sandals become the go-to.
But don’t wait too long - I have a feeling these COS trousers won’t stay in stock for much longer.
