There are already so many styles of denim jeans to choose from; classic styles such straight-leg, skinny and mom jeans, and trending styles to include horseshoe, carrot jeans and barrel - so what's one more to add to the roster? No longer a make-shift practicality for showing off a statement shoe or avoiding puddles, turn-up jeans represent a calculated style choice rather than a last-minute decision to save yourself from wet hems. It's now the detail that can make all the difference - adding structure to relaxed denim or exaggerating an already wide-leg style.

The turn-up hem has been popping up in every wash too, from light vintage hues to deep indigos. Whether ankle-grazing or floor-skimming, it's a style that can be worn during almost any season, by styling with chunky boots in winter and New Balance trainers in spring. And, Sacai's spring/summer 2025 show proves how effortlessly chic they can be. Paired with a structured white tee (if you're on the hunt for a similar style you might want to look at Uniqlo) and understated accessories, it's a look that's incredibly easy to replicate with items you most likely already own.

When we thought that turn-up jeans couldn't get baggier, Simone Rocha's spring/summer 2025 show proved, in fact, they can. These exaggerated, floor-grazing cuffs blend streetwear with high fashion, and the turn-up denim juxtaposes with the bralette and tulle accent, a nod to Rocha's mastery in combining feminine softness with boxy, oversized proportions.

Turn-up jeans aren't just ruling the runway, however, the style has firmly planted itself in the high street too. Nobody's Child has tapped into the trend with its Denim Wide-Leg Turn-Up Jeans that ooze in wearability, and most importantly, affordability. The jeans are cut wide at the leg, have a zip fastening and are anchored with the turn-up detailing. And, whether paired with a chunky knit and loafers for a daytime look, or styled with heeled mules and boxy blazer for the evening, the Nobody's Child turn-up jeans echo the wider sartorial shift to relaxed dressing.

Nobody's Child, Denim Wide-Leg Turn-Up JeansNobody's Child

The Nobody's Child turn-up jeans are one of the most popular designs on the high street, thanks to the mid-wash colouring and flattering fit that nips in at the waist and then flares out at the leg. With an on-trend turn-up hem, style with a Ganni blouse, white socks and ballet flats.

The turn-up jean trend signals a somewhat more adventurous approach to a classic denim silhouette, proving that a small tweak - like a turned up ankle - has the power to transform an entire outfit. As always, the devil's in the details.

M&S has also weighed in on the turn-up jean trend with this pair as part of the Per Una collection. These jeans have seam detailing down the middle, as well as turned-up hems to create the ultimate laid-back pair of jeans. Mango has also released its own version of the turn-up jeans, made from a cotton denim-style fabric and with a nostalgic low waist. The best part about these jeans are their darker indigo wash, which is not only super on-trend, but also excellent for pairing with winter tones like navy, grey and chocolate browns.

Damson Madder, Sylvie JeansDamson Madder

Damson Madder might be better known for its leopard print jeans as opposed to traditional denim, but these turn-up jeans strike the perfect balance between wide and straight leg. Other details to note in the Sylvie Jeans are the DM embroidery detail on the back pocket and boxy fit.

ME+EM also has a great pair of turn-up jeans, complete with mid-waist, straight-leg and zip fly fastening.
