As series eight of Selling Sunset drops on Netflix - the show which follows a group of super glam, super rich realtors as they sell ridiculously priced properties around LA - what better time for a refresh of the key players. While the series might seem like an audacious bragging of wealth to some, to others (like us) the show has become an absolute staple binge-watch and we're eagerly anticipating the new series.
And in a large part that's thanks to Chrishell Stause - an actress and realtor who's not afraid to speak her mind. She joined the show for its very first series and has been at the centre of nearly all the storylines since then. We've seen her go through a divorce, start dating again and get remarried on the show, but what's the latest with the star?
Who is Chrishell Stause?
Chrishell is an American actress who previously starred as Amanda Dillon on All My Children and Jordan Ridgeway on Days of Our Lives and the movies, but now we know her for being part of The Oppenheim Group on Selling Sunset.
More recently Chrishell joined the cast of the Australian soap Neighbours as Yasmine 'Yas' Shields, who is described as, 'A glamorous and successful businesswoman in pursuit of an exciting new opportunity'. Chrishell has shared some behind-the-scenes snaps of her on set, but her scenes are yet to air.
Where is Chrishell Stause from?
Chrishell was born in Draffenville, Kentucky. Before knowing that she was pregnant, her mother broke up with Chrishell's biological father - who was half Japanese and half Spanish - and eventually started dating Chrishell's step-father: Jeff.
Chrishell has been open about the bouts of homelessness that she experienced throughout her childhood on Selling Sunset - especially in series one when she went to stay with her sister Shonda following her then-husband Justin Hartley filing for divorce.
How did Chrishell Stause get her name?
Well, you're in for a treat.
Apparently, Chrishell's mum was at a Shell petrol station when she went into labour. A staff member there - named Chris - called the ambulance and helped her to deliver the baby. When it came to deciding on a name therefore, Chrishell's mum merged Chris with Shell, to create Chrishell. And thus an icon was born.
Or so we thought... Turns out that's not entirely true. In Chrishell's book - released in 2024 - she confirmed that her mother had some car troubles and pulled into a gas station and that while waiting at the car station she went into pre-labor, but it turns out that Chris the car attendant helped her to reach a hospital and Chrishell was born in a hospital.
Is Chrishell Stause married?
In May 2023, Chrishell surprised her followers when she revealed that she had secretly married her partner of a year, Australian (that explains why Chrishell recently joined Neighbours!) musician G-Flip.
The pair met when Chrishell starred in the music video for their track Get Me Outta Here in 2022 and their relationship has gone from strength to strength ever since with G-Flip even featuring in Selling Sunset. In series seven, Chrishell and G-Flip emotionally discussed Chrishell's journey to motherhood and the steps that they would have to take to become parents as a queer couple.
What happened between Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley?
Ah, so Chrishell was previously married to This Is Us actor Justin Hartley - they began dating in 2014 and tied the knot in 2017 - but sadly the pair split in 2019 with Chrishell apparently being shocked when her husband filed for divorce in the November listing 'irreconcilable differences'.
Justin went on to date his former Young & The Restless co-star Sofia Pernas and they eventually got married in 2021.
What happened between Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim?
We all know that Jason has a bit of a habit of dating the women at The Oppenheim Group and in 2021 his employee of the year was Chrishell.
The pair began dating in the summer but only lasted a few months before they split. Luckily they've managed to remain on good terms as friends and colleagues.
How old is Chrishell Stause?
Chrishell was born on 21 July 1981, which - by our calculations - makes her 43-years-old.
What is Chrishell Stause's net worth?
Cheeky to be asking, but seeing how you asked so nicely we’ll tell you. Her estimated net worth is about $6million. Alright for some!
Who is Chrishell Stause friends with?
Chrishell has made no secret of her love for her BFF Emma Hernan - who is at the centre of a lot of drama in series eight apparently - with the pair being virtually inseparable on screen and off. In fact, Emma officiated Chrishell's wedding to G-Flip in 2023.
The realtor is also close with Chelsea Lazkani, Bre Tiesi and Amanza Smith (bar their teeny tiny fight in series seven).
What happened between Chrishell Stause and Christine Quinn?
Uh oh. These two are not the best of friends, with Chrishell blocking Christine Quinn on Instagram following their fallouts back in the earlier series of Selling Sunset. Yikes.
The pair first fell out when Christine labelled Chrishell 'two-faced' during a row about Mary Fitzgerald and her fiancé Romain Bonnet. Their very public spats continued until 2022 when Christine left both Selling Sunset and The Oppenheim Group and they no longer talk.
What happened between Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young?
Let's be honest, come for Chrishell and it's not going to end well.
Nicole Young seems to have had it in for Chrishell from the moment that she joined the show for series six and it all boils down to a dispute over split fees and commission back in the day.
Despite the fact that we're now at series eight, the pair still haven't patched things up - if anything the drama between them has only escalated (remember when Chrishell appeared to insinuate that Nicole was on drugs - something Nicole vehemently denies - during a particularly intense argument at dinner?). Reality show gold!
Their feud appeared to have reached the point of no return after Nicole made accusations about Emma, Chrishell’s best friend, leaving both Chrishell and Chelsea raging on Emma’s behalf.
In season eight episode eight, Nicole and Bre had a conversation about Emma and Chelsea, which culminated with Nicole alleging that Emma has had an affair with a married man. 'I think it's real interesting for Emma in particular to have comments about other people's marriages and get involved in any of that because I've heard some grey things in terms of that. So I would be careful in her position, because she's been involved with people she shouldn't have been,’ Nicole said.
Bre asked, ‘Married people?’, to which Nicole responded, ‘I wouldn't trust Emma with my husband.’
When Bre quizzed, ‘Not a husband snatcher?’ Nicole nodded her head.
Taking to Instagram ahead of season eight airing, Chrishell shared a series of stories writing, ‘Someone needs to take my phone [because] 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Are we really still giving airtime to LIARS that just want airtime??’
Chrishell then seemingly accused her rival Nicole Young of being said liar saying, 'I will NEVER work on a show with her on it again. I would rather be sued.’
She continued, ‘Disclaimer when you watch: Just know she spews a disgusting lie about a bestie that is categorically FALSE and SUPER damaging. It is NOT TRUE. [and] @done_and_done_productions you are disgusting for blindsiding [my friend] with this to see with the world instead of letting her at LEAST defend herself with the TRUTH.’
Does Chrishell Stause have Instagram?
Oh come on, of course she does. You can follow her very glamorous life on Instagram @chrishell.stause.
