If there is one thing to know about Hailey Bieber, it's that she knows her beauty trends. She has been influential in putting glazed donut nails on the map, bringing back all manner of Y2K styles and was a poster child for the Clean Girl Aesthetic. It's only natural, then, that Rhode, her namesake beauty line, was going to launch to high acclaim when it hit shelves in America in 2022. Across the pond, in the absence of being able to try it ourselves, many of us eagerly scrolled through reviews of the sell-out range as each product went viral on social media and earned rave reviews.
Thankfully, Bieber heard our collective moans and soon launched her eponymous rangein the UK. We rushed to get our hands on her coveted kit of glow-giving products. The initial curated edit was a capsule collection, comprising of 'Hailey's essentials'. If you know her social content well, by now you'll know glossy lips and glazed skin is her signature go-to, and both could be easily achieved with those staples.
Since that initial launch, Bieber has been busy developing more skincare formulas, like The Rhode Pineapple Refresh Cleanser before expanding into the inevitable: make-up, with a stellar new range of blushers.
The range prides itself on being both affordable and luxurious, with gentle yet efficacious formulas that can easily be swapped in and out of your existing routine. The skincare range is centred on barrier-protecting ingredients like peptides, niacinimide and shea butter (which all repeatedly appear in the ingredients lists), which collectively work to plump, soothe and restore, all while leaving behind that sought-after natural dew. The motivation for the range stems from Bieber's own experience with perioral dermatitis and her subsequent need to arm herself with the right products. Ergo, you can expect Rhode's skincare buys to really tend to your skin with its 'simple' ethos.
Case in point? The brand's newBarrier Butter, £38. Dropping on 28th October, the intensive moisturising balm has already whipped up a storm on social media, not least because 'nineties '90s supermodel and all-round icon Claudia Schiffer is the face of it. Loaded with barrier-fortifying ceramide np, nourishing murumuru butter, and skin-plumping polyglutamic acid, the multitasking balm can be used anywhere you need deep hydration and relief overnight to leave skin soft and bouncy. Clinically proven to seal in moisture for up to 24 hours and strengthen the skin barrier, the Barrier Butter has already earned a Seal of Acceptance™ from the National Eczema Association, and that's ahead of even launching. We have high hopes for this one.
I've been testing out the range, so if you're keen to know my honest thoughts on it so far, I have the tea. Read on...

Hailey Bieber has a penchant for naming beauty products and trends after food, but this one makes total sense. Much like the rich, ultra-nourishing and comforting feel of the butter in your fridge, this multitasking balm can be used overnight to help reveal softer, more bouncy and hydrated skin by morning. The best part? It can be used anywhere you find bouts of dryness or a compromised skin barrier, so you really can make the product stretch. The Barrier Butter launches on 28 October, stay tuned.

While it claims to be a balm, I'd argue this cleanser is far runnier than any balm I've previously used but housed in tube packaging, the texture makes more sense. The scentless, yellow-tinged, golden formula emulsifies quickly into a milky, cream-like consistency while on the skin and is silky, smooth and refreshing, much like the name suggests. I'm prone to stinging given my sensitive, acne-prone skin, and was glad to find this didn't irritate in the slightest. This is likely down to the vegan, cruelty-free, fragrance-free, gluten-free, opthamologist and dermatologist-approved formula, which I am all here for.

On application this isn't as gel-like as I'd imagined. That being said, it's lightweight and glides on effortlessly, soaking into the skin instantly and leaves behind a post-facial sheen that isn't so easily achieved by other serums that promise 'glow', which can often feel tacky. There's hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture, peptides to plump and niacinamide to brighten and improve texture. I apply two layers to really get that supple feeling, but the sheer wetness of the product makes it so comforting and soothing on application, I'd happily pack this atop my lacklustre skin on days I need it most.

Now this is a product I can see myself packing in my carry-on. Again, it's weightless but brilliantly rich thanks to a power packed list of ingredients, including nourishing shea butter, skin barrier supporting squalene, free radical protecting acai and (more) peptides and niacinamide to plump and brighten. Those with a combination to dehydrated skin type will appreciate the level of moisture it provides.

Arguably the hero of the bunch. There are three wonderful iterations of Hailey's viral lip treatment: Unscented, Watermelon and my personal favourite Salted Caramel. They smell delicious and are equally great at nourishing parched lips thanks to a blend of shea butter, peptides, cupuaçu and babassu. Expect an ultra-glazed, high-shine and uber-smooth finish.

Bieber had been teasing this for what felt like months ahead of finally confirming the rumours of a new cream blush joining the family. And boy were they worth the wait. The balmy, on-the-go blush is another multitasking hero, perfect for lips, cheeks, and, as I found, even eyes. It's lightweight but packs pigment and leaves the skin awash with the most beautiful, natural-looking satiny flush that is glowy, never greasy. The shades on offer are enough to hook you. See the pic above for proof - Juice Box is my new obsession.

Love the original Peptide Lip Treatment? Well, then you'll adore this. It promises the same uber-nourishing, comforting, lip-hugging formula, with the addition of a sheer-but-buildable colour which leaves lips plump. The core shades are year-round failsafes but I do love the pop of colour provided by the limited edition offerings, hello Peach Pit.
