The film that EVERYONE is talking about this year - no, not No Time to Die (and anyway, if we’re being pedantic about it, that was technically a 2020-er) - dropped a trailer that EVERYONE is talking about.

Don’t Look Up, which hits Netflix on Christmas Eve, is about a comet that’s going to hit earth and it's got the most star-studded cast since, well, ever. Leo DiCaprio{ =nofollow}! Jennifer Lawrence! Meryl Streep! Cate Blanchett! Tyler Perry! Jonah Hill! Timothee Chalamet! Ariana Grande! And an IMDb’s-worth of more famous faces.

So what’s it about? The premise is this: a comet is about to hit earth and astronomers played by Leo and Jennifer try to warn people about it, but they just won’t listen. Even though they go on a media tour to inform the world - still, no one is listening. Sound a bit familiar?

In the new trailer for the comedy, we see Leo and JLaw (with a fantastic fringe and a nose ring) in the White House warning the president (Meryl Streep! Vote Meryl!), while her son, who is also her chief of staff (played by the legendary Jonah Hill) makes lols about the situation. Their official line? 'Sit tight and assess'. Cool! Sounds straight out of COP26 to be fair.

But let’s return to the fact Ariana Grande is in it! That was something Jennifer Lawrence was delighted about. 'That was one of the coolest days of my life,' she told Vanity Fair. 'I took a picture with her - I looked like a radio contest winner'.

J-Law also revealed other secrets from filming in the chat, including Jonah Hill making it impossible for them to film without laughing, and that she accidentally inhaled the nose ring her character wore and spat it out in front of her co-star Leo.

Ah, Leo. World-improving fan Leo admitted in an interview earlier this year that he signed up for the film because the climate change theme really resonated: 'I knew when I read his script that it was incredibly unique, as it struck an important chord concerning the modern world we live in, [Director] Adam McKay has woven an incredibly timely message about society, how we communicate, our current priorities, and the climate crisis into an absurdly funny yet important movie.'

The current trailer of two minutes 45 seconds is long enough to keep us going until December 24, but at least there’s not long to wait to watch the entire thing. Plus, if Christmas is cancelled (or you’ve already spent too much time with the people you’re ‘doing Christmas’ with), stick this on.

Director McKay has a track record of brilliant films like Step Brothers, Vice and The Big Short - and with the most celebrity faces per minute of any film that already exists, there’ll be something for everyone. Especially for all the climate change deniers in your life too.

Christmas Eve can’t come quickly enough.
