From Adidas Taekwondo to Nike Cortez, one thing's for certain - you'll be seeing these trainers everywhere this year.

Another year, another set of trainers that will become so unbelievably popular, you'll be refreshing the website daily to find your size in stock. When a pair of trainers has been crowned the 'it' trainer of the year, the process of trying to get your hands on them is not for the faint of heart. The good news? My job involves researching the best trends (which conveniently equates to a TikTok doom-scroll) and after hours of tedious research (I enjoyed every second) I've shortlisted the five pairs that I predict will be a sell-out success.

Adidas Taekwondo

The sun went down on the adidas Samba when the former Prime Minister rocked a pair, but it won't shock you to discover that the Sambas have been swiftly replaced by another pair of adidas trainers - the Taekwondos. Indeed, the Taekwondo style started out as a martial art shoe, but have now been rebranded as the new Samba, and are - of course - cool-girl certified.

Nike Cortez

Ideal for anyone embracing the season’s love affair with retro trainers, I'm crowning the Nike Cortez sneakers the winner of 2025 already. Dakota Johnson was spotted wearing a pair of Cortez trainers while filming The Materialists last year, and there's no doubt in my mind that these will soon be everywhere. Already selling out in brown, shop while you still can.

Puma Speedcats

We've already waxed lyrical about the Puma Speedcats and why they're the trainer of the moment, but the hype around the Emily Ratajkowski-approved kicks isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Whether you opt for the cool black or vibrant red, you can't go wrong.

Gola Tornados

Known for its iconic stripes and vintage-inspired silhouettes, Gola exudes effortless cool, whether paired with tailored separates or off-duty denim. For 2025, Gola Tornados are stealing the spotlight. With their chunky soles, bold colourways, and retro-futuristic aesthetic, they’re a statement piece that’s impossible to ignore.

Alohas

If you've spent any time at all on TikTok, you'll know that Alohas sneakers have cemented their status as the trainer brand of the moment, effortlessly blending sustainability with high-fashion appeal. From the chunky-soled 'West' to the sleek and versatile 'Loop,' these silhouettes have become staples for fashion insiders and influencers alike. Plus, there's nothing more outfit-enhancing than a pair of metallic trainers.
