The Bear season four landed on our screens last week — and all we can say is: yes, chef. The gritty, Chicago-based TV series is back for another season of mouth-watering dishes, razor-sharp writing, and just the right amount of the cast’s chaotic-yet-charming chemistry. And of course, the fashion? It's still as impeccable as ever.
While the fashion in The Bear is somewhat subtle and understated (in the way The White Lotus definitely wasn't) it's still a huge part of the character's identities. In season's gone by, Carmy (played by Jeremy Allen White) wears simple Loro Piana polo shirts, Thom Browne trousers and retro New Balance sneakers, while Sydney's (Ayo Edebiri) love for vintage tees, Paloma Wool jumpers and boldly brilliant bandanas isn't left unnoticed. Pastry Chef Marcus frequently wears eBay-sourced Carhartt beanies, Richie is seen in second-hand adidas and Lacoste, and vintage Levi's are a staple in practically every character's wardrobe.

The retro, up-cycled element of the styling was - of course - entirely intentional. Speaking to Esquire, The Bear Costume Designer Courtney Wheeler says 'Chefs have a particular eye for detail and what looks good—quality, cut, colour, which I think has come through with Carmy, with Syd, and with Marcus'. Chefs are innately cool, and artists in their own right, with a keen eye of what looks good, so it only makes that their image reflects that. Season four is no different, with immediate sartorial standouts from the very first episode, including Carmen’s signature Ralph Lauren Jacket which makes a stylish return for the fourth instalment. And don't forget Sydney's delightfully vibrant array of head scarves.

Carmy's Jackets
Stoic and minimalistic as always, Carmen's simple collared Ralph Lauren jacket just makes sense, and it's back for season four. It's still available to shop, albeit in only a few sizes, so we included a few similar versions as well.

Carmy's White T Shirt
Even Chicago chefs understand the importance of a simple white T-shirt. Carmy's exact tee from German brand Merz B. Schwanen is now out of stock, so we found some of the best that the market has to offer.

Sydney's Bandanas
Sydney's bandanas have reached cult status at this point. While many of the pieces are from Chicago-based independent brands and therefore unavailable in the UK, we've found the closest alternatives to shop now, plus options from KAPITAL, a brand consistently featured on the show.

Sydney's Ganni Bag
Another fashion moment from Sydney (who previously wore a sold-out Dries Van Noten dress - we see you!) this time with the classic Ganni Bou bag which happens to be in the Liberty summer sale.
