The Mowalola x Crocs collab makes a strong case for camo and graffiti shoes - something I never thought I’d say. Splashed with spray paint and scribbles across the chunky soles, the design turns the brand’s most recognisable silhouette into something more a little bit bolder. It’s proof that Crocs are no longer just reserved for the garden, they’re cool enough to style them with baggy denim, skirts, or mini dresses.

That rebellious streak is comes courtesy of the brand Mowalola. Founded by Nigerian-born, London-based designer Mowalola Ogunlesi, the brand has become synonymous with challenging convention. Recently the designer has been stacking the collaborations, teaming with the likes of Marc Jacobs, Ksubi and Miss Sixty. A Central Saint Martins alumna, her work finds its inspiration in rave culture, Nigerian heritage, and politics, often blurring the line between fashion and social commentary. With celebrity fans including Dua Lipa, Rihanna, and Kim Kardashian, she’s carved out a space as one of fashion’s most daring voices.

Crocs, meanwhile, have their own unlikely history. First released in 2002 as a boating clog, they gained a reputation for comfort rather than style, beloved by healthcare workers and gardeners but dismissed by fashion people as the ultimate ‘ugly shoe.’ Yet over the last decade, the brand has staged one of fashion’s greatest image flips. Collaborations with Christopher Kane, Balenciaga, Simone Rocha, and Jean Paul Gaultier have turned the clog into a sought-after item.

All things considered, the Mowalola x Crocs collab is exactly what you’d expect when two brands known for defying expectations come together. Scroll to shop the three piece collaboration.
