Some days (okay, four out of five), our lunch break is spent sitting at our desks staring down an ever-growing inbox while we fork at yesterday’s leftovers. Bleak. As over half of us (52%) are already spending this hour off surfing the web, what better time to shop than this?

To make matters more complicated, however, we are of course still battling with climate change and the need to reduce our levels of consumption has never been more urgent. That's why this Lunchtime Shop will bring you all the best pieces that you can wear season after season. After all, with an increasing awareness of fast fashion's impact on our planet, it's necessary to shop consciously and make smart purchases; things that will be in your wardrobe forever, and that you'll always love wearing.

From the best of the wear-forever high street buys to the most beautiful pieces to shop from all of your favourite designers, these are the things worth investing in. If a lunch break is really the only thing worth looking forward to on some work days, you may as well make it extra special.

The collaboration of the summer is already here, Reformation have teamed up with sustainable eyewear label Jimmy Fairly for a collection of sunglasses that'll take any outfit up a notch. Made sustainably in France with 100% plant-based and biodegradable bio-acetate, the 8-piece capsule is now available to shop - so act fast as these are set to sell out quick!

Summer is on the horizon, now is the time to get your swimwear in order. If you want the effect of a bikini with all the structural integrity of a swimsuit, opt for a cut out cossie for the best of both worlds. John Lewis' 'Hello Sailor' stripe comes in a thick textured scuba material for a super flattering finish.

You will have seen this style of top cropping up across your IG and TikTok, and for good reason. The bow front tie blouse is our current style of the season and is set to carry on as our top of choice all summer long. What's even better, this ASOS Design style comes in at under £30 and is available not just in leopard print (a huge trend for 2024) but in plain white and gingham, too, so you can collect them all!

With summer events looming, you may be planning many wedding guest outfits. If you don't want to buy a whole new look (which is expensive and not the most sustainable way of going about things) then upgrade your accessories instead. Needle & Thread, known for its frothy, romantic dresses, has teamed up with Soru Jewellery to create a capsule collection of pretty pieces that will elevate any outfit. These studs, designed in the UK, were handmade in Turkey from sterling silver with white opal and clear sparkling crystals.

H&M's new Studio collection is filled with luxe-looking pieces you'll want to wear all summer long. It's selling fast, so many items have already sold out but this beautiful blouse is still, happily, in stock in all sizes. Crafted from mulberry silk, it has a slightly nipped-in waist and semi-open back, creating a flattering and romantic silhouette. Wear with linen trousers and heeled sandals for a chic take on summer.

Pictures actually don't do this bag justice – from the size to the texture, it's an absolute joy. Ideal for stashing your laptop, a change of clothes or even your beach essentials, you'll find that this works for every aspect of your life, whatever your plans.

American brand Hill House Home created a sensation with its signature Nap Dress, which was (for obvious reasons, mainly comfort) a sell-out hit during the pandemic. Now, the brand has added even more glorious prints and colours, making the dress available in an incredible 24 different iterations and brilliantly inclusive sizes (UK 2-26). The fact that it's comfortable is, of course, key but perhaps even more excitingly, it can be so easily dressed up or down, meaning you can wear this absolutely anywhere. You may not even need another dress again.
