One is the fashion girlie’s favourite brand to come out of Copenhagen, famous for its checked dresses, leopard spots, studded flats - and a refreshingly honest approach to sustainability. The other is the powerhouse supermodel who was 2023’s Model of the Year. Together, Ganni and Paloma Elsesser, who was the first curve model to win that particular gong at the Fashion Awards, have collaborated on a size-inclusive capsule that cements the former’s status as one of the best contemporary labels when it comes to fit that feels a lot more representative than your average brand.

Elsesser, meanwhile, has the kind of off-duty style that has quickly made her the only person you need to spot outside the catwalk shows she’s just walked in to know what you should be wearing (capri leggings, FYI). As one of the most recognisable faces in the world of modelling right now - gracing magazine covers and catwalks, as well as writing powerful op-eds about her experiences in the industry - she is someone who's making people sit up and listen.

'Paloma is a dream girl. Her style is unmatched and she serves as such an inspiration to the industry and women around the world,' says Ditte Reffstrup, Ganni’s creative director, who first had the pleasure of collaborating with the model when she walked for the brand back in 2020. ‘I was instantly drawn to her extremely warm character. She has such magnetic energy. Our collective vision for this collaboration is to empower individuals of all shapes and sizes by offering thoughtful, elevated styles. Paloma is a true voice of change in an industry that is playing catch up. We can’t wait to share this project with the world.’

Elsesser actually teased the first design from the collaboration on the catwalk last autumn, a fabulous oxblood two-piece comprising of a hooded dress worn over a slinky pair of trousers. (For her birthday celebration last week, meanwhile, she wore another hooded dress from the collab that's both tantalisingly sheer and flecked with polka dots; the coolest twist on the trad print we've seen in 2024.) With trending silhouettes that can be paired together or worn separately - like a sleeveless checked dress that could either be styled by itself or over the matching cargo-style pants - and a size range from EU 32-52 (UK 4-24), there's something for every activity you could possibly be planning this summer, from sultry festival gear to guranteed-to-serve wedding guest attire.

'As we continue to embrace diversity and the expression of self through fashion, [this] collaboration represents a powerful step towards a more size-inclusive and empowering fashion future. Our shared vision of inclusivity but most importantly confidence introduces our collection that aims to inspire curiosity and self-acceptance. I’m truly excited to share this with you all,' says Elsesser.

This checked dress will become a cornerstone of your summer wardrobe, whether or not you choose to wear it over the matching trousers.

These drawstring-waist trousers will be your best friend when it comes to off-duty outfits this summer.

With three out of the collection's four dresses featuring hoods, expect to see the silhouette everywhere this summer.

These knitted gold trousers, with an ever-so-slight flare at the hemline, just need a grey cashmere sweater and a lo-fi pair of sneakers.

First seen on the catwalk in August 2023, Paloma's oxblood hooded dress, with its tantalisingly sheer fabrication, is already a strong contender for this year's best summer dress.

Ideally worn underneath the matching red dress, these semi-sheer trousers will also be a dream on this summer's festival circuit.

Introducing the coolest polka dot dress in town, featuring a hood and keyhole cut-outs for major look-at-me energy this summer.
