I’ve Seen This Dress At Least 10 Times On Instagram – And It’s From The High Street

If you've scrolled through Instagram lately, which - let's be honest - you probably have, chances are you have stumbled upon a yellow Damson Madder frock that's been causing quite the buzz.

Founded in 2020, Damson Madder has since been everywhere, with celebrities like Anya Taylor-Joy wearing the high street brand's designs, and most of Instagram too. The brand is renowned for its whimsical prints and top-notch fabrics, all made with a commitment to sustainability and produced in limited quantities. Plus, it's female-led, which is always brilliant to see.

After the success of the Tilly Gilet and those viral leopard print jeans, Damson Madder has become the secret destination for all cool girls, crafting items that are both expressive and fun. This season, its dresses have stolen the limelight, but particularly the Tish Poplin Dress, £75. Why exactly has this yellow dress become the darling of Instagram? If we had to venture a guess, we would probably attribute it to its universally flattering design. The smocked bodice accentuates the waist without feeling restrictive, while the flowy skirt is breathable (AKA totally heatwave-proof), and the square neckline is both elegant and modern, a nod to more vintage styles while still remaining current.

The versatility of the Tish Dress is also certainly part of its appeal. Whether you're channelling your inner Cottagecore this summer, or are looking to invest in an outfit that requires little to no effort, this dress is versatile enough for a day at the park, a casual brunch, or even a garden party. Pair the yellow vision with mesh ballet pumps or strappy sandals for the daytime, or dress it up with kitten heels and a statement necklace. Plus, once we (unfortunately) move towards the cooler months, layer over a chunky knit and some ankle boots for an outfit that will effortlessly transition between seasons. That must take the cost-per-wear down to almost nothing - right?
