Damson Madder is no stranger to a sell-out item - just look at how popular its dresses have been of late. There's another item that's been occupying our social media feeds, however, and that's the leopard print Tilly Gilet that was spotted on most influencers last year and which sold out almost immediately, with over 12,000 people signing up to be the waiting list. Now, the quilted gilet is back in stock in multiple colours - and on sale.

Somehow, the gilets manage to be both practical and an easy way to turn a basic outfit into something more interesting. They also work for all seasons, providing extra warmth in winter when layered over shirts or knits, while they can be thrown over a light T-shirt for summer.

The beauty of a gilet lies in its versatility - it can almost be worn with absolutely anything, which we love as it's fuss-free and you get better cost-per-wear. You can tie the gilet over a flowy summer dress, or pair it with a tailored shirt (added bonus if it has a statement Peter Pan collar) and wide-leg trousers. Some of the gilets are reversible too, offering twice the styling potential.

Shop the on sale Damson Madder gilets before they go out of stock (again).

For a more vintage-inspired gilet that looks great layered over a white t-shirt, this gilet features a thin tie front closure, front pockets and embroidery detail. The design is slightly cropped, which lets the shirt you've layered underneath hang, giving it that 'I just threw this on' look.

Arte Reversible Tie Gilet - Red RuffleDamson Madder
Price: £45 (was £75)

Timeless but bold nonetheless, this year red has dominated the fashion scene (and it doesn't look like the trend is slowing down either). Inject a pop of colour into your outfit with this bright red gilet that features frill pockets and the classic 'DM' embroidery on the pockets.

Arte Tie Gilet - Navy CheckDamson Madder
Price: £48 (was £80)

If the red Arte Tie Gilet is a bit too bright for your liking, go for one that's slightly more understated, like this gilet with a check design. Again, with a tie closure and frill pockets, this gilet is perfect for layering over a white maxi dress, or even an LBD.

More Damson Madder Gilets

Tilly Gilet - LeopardDamson Madder

Perhaps the most famous Damson Madder gilet, the Tilly design in leopard took the world (well, every influencer) by storm and was completely sold out last year. Now, it's back in stock and we can certainly see its appeal, with its double tie design, scoop neck and quilted fabric.

Alva Bow GiletDamson Madder

As part of Damson Madder's Pre Fall 2024 collection, aptly named 'The Honour Roll,' it has released a brand new style of gilet - the Alva Bow Gilet. The gilet is slightly different from its other designs as it features cut-out hem detailing, princess seams and and navy blue checked print.

Marta Borg Gilet - BowsDamson Madder

Although it feels like summer has barely even started, autumn will be well on its way soon enough. Damson Madder have created the perfect layering piece - a borg detailed gilet with bow details in a stunning cream with black patterns. Wear it on top of a white shirt with a pair of black trousers for an everyday look.

Georgie Reversible Gilet - Pink SatinDamson Madder

The Georgie Gilet is fully reversible, with a bright pink colour on one side and forest green on the other. Unlike a lot of Damson Madder gilets that have a tie closure, this gilet has buttons all the way down, so you have the option to wear it unbuttoned or fully closed.

Tilly Gilet - DenimDamson Madder

It's guaranteed that this gilet will sell out, as most denim Damson Madder gilets do. It can be tricky to know what to style denim with, so your best bet is to wear this one over a floaty summer maxi dress. Or, embrace the early 2000s and go full denim-on-denim by styling with a plain t-shirt and jeans.
