Cargo pants have been back for a while now, and we've all been enjoying how comfortable they feel compared to jeans and the fact that you have about six pockets to choose from. But what about camouflage pants? The older (and equally Nineties) cousin of the cargo is making a play for your wardrobe this autumn. And we don't know about you, but we're torn.
There's no doubt about it, the celebrities have been styling out camouflage over the past few months. Cynthia Erivo packed a pair of jeans-slash-camo-print-trousers for the Venice Film Festival. But then, she could make anything look cool.
What about Bella Hadid, who wore her low-slung pair with a cropped tee and oval-shaped sunglasses? Again, her whole wardrobe seems to be dated circa 1999 (i.e. made for camouflage). Rihanna styled hers with exactly the kind of outfit we would have loved to wear in 2002: a bubblegum pink top and pointed white pumps.
The street style set is also backing the trend - and aren't just sticking to trousers. One woman wore a camouflage-print coat (with accessories from Gucci) in Paris, while others paired their pants with sweater vests and leather jackets (very All Saints). So what's the verdict?
For its practicality (khaki goes with literally everything), we have to say we're on board. But if you're following our lead, perhaps the tattoo chokers and butterfly clips should stay at home. Some things are best left in the Nineties.
