This Danish Label Is Currently The A-List’s Best-Kept Secret

It started at Copenhagen Fashion Week, then cropped up a few weeks later in New York. We're not talking about knee-high boots or bag charms but a leopard-spotted coat that was so fabulous that it couldn't help but turn heads. Then Jennifer Lawrence wore it and - what do you know? - it's now entirely sold out. This is bigger than just a coat, however. It's just as much about the brand, By Malene Birger, and how it's quietly become the fashion editor's best-kept secret (until now).

The Danish label has become something of quiet-luxury contemporary to brands like Toteme, another design house that delivers minimalist perfection hailing from Scandinavia – and the label responsible for the infamous scarf coat that infiltrated every Instagram feed – and has amassed a celebrity following including Hailey Bieber, Sienna Miller and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The outerwear is particularly delicious - and not just limited to leopard print. (Psst: The jacket version of that coat is still available to shop in all sizes so you best act fast if you've fallen head over heels.) For a brand that was founded in 2003, it's remained surprisingly under the radar - a name that's still IYKYK - for almost two decades. The leopard-print coat might have changed all that but you heard it here first.
