After a summer spent luxuriating in sundresses and wandering the streets in sandals, we're ready for autumn and its bounty of sweaters, coats, trousers and loafers. And while many of the shops are still filled with the last dregs of summer, & Other Stories has already got a jump on next season, with new collections from its three ateliers in Stockholm, Paris and Los Angeles.
Stockholm is your go-to for polished minimalism and this autumn has a utilitarian feel, with bomber jackets, designed to be worn on the slouchy side, and sleeveless vests adding to the 'city trekking' vibe. One of its tailored waistcoats - a three-buttoned style in black - has already dropped and, paired with a swooshing skirt, would make a lovely top half for a wedding guest outfit with a difference.
Paris is feminine and, naturally, French, with miniskirts, ruffled blouses, checked blazers and berets rounding out the collection. The accessories from this atelier are particularly wearable - the mock-croc tote, for example, could easily fit a compact laptop with space for a lunchbox - and will start you off on the right foot when it comes to autumn dressing.
Los Angeles is a glamour-obsessed city, sure, but is also all about leisurewear, hence why the atelier combined both in this new offering, with slinky knits and cool-girl denim that speaks to its woman's love of lo-fi dressing. The flared cotton trousers, paired with a waistcoat and square-heeled boots, is very off-duty Kendall Jenner.
While you wait for the rest of the collection to drop, here's everything you can shop (and wear) now.
