The Trend For Big Collars Is Gathering Speed, And Holly Willoughby’s Is The Best On The High Street

As we contemplate winter, and the next-to-zero prospect of returning to work as normal, it seems that waist-up dressing is back on the cards. Zoom-worthy earrings and say something necklaces (see Michelle Obama) are officially the way forward, but here’s another idea: blouses with big collars.

This one’s been percolating for a while on Instagram - Pernille Teisbaek paired hers with a leather minidress back in August, Susie Lau is a paid-up fan of the chintzy prints at Horror Vacui - but has recently been cemented by Holly Willoughby.

The TV presenter’s is from Mango- and has the kind of frilled, and extravagantly-sized, collar you’re looking for. Luckily, it’s still available to buy for just £35.99, and can be styled girly (Holly tucked hers into a navy miniskirt), grungy (pair with wide-leg leather trousers and stomper boots) or a combination of the two (try a pinafore dress and polka dot tights). Another way to wear it is tucked under a jumper so that the collar - floating prettily over the top - is allowed to take centre stage.
