It seems fashion's greatest sources of excitement come in the form of collaborations at the moment. There's the upcoming Adidas x Gucci collection, not to mention Manolo Blahnik's take on Birkenstocks. Today, though, we have been given the gift of truly lovely summer shoes, courtesy of a partnership between Emilia Wickstead and ViBi Venezia, a Venetian slipper brand founded by sisters Viola and Vera Arrivabene.
The collection includes three styles of canvas shoes – a classic moccasin, the Sabot mule and a buckled Mary Jane – all boasting Wickstead's signature floral prints, which can also be seen on her Pre-Fall 2022 swimwear collection. Yes, this means you really could match your bikini to your beach shoes.

Of course, shoes this fabulous must have an equally glamorous origin story, which is why you won't be disappointed to learn that Wickstead met Viola in Positano last year. The pair immediately connected over their shared love of traditional style with a contemporary twist, leading to this beautiful, versatile footwear which could be worn as easily by the pool as it could to a wedding.
The Arrivabene sisters star in a campaign to accompany the collection, alongside their other siblings Mafalda and Maddalena. The images were shot in some of their favourite areas of Venice and may well incite you to book a holiday immediately.
Wickstead is a designer who couldn't possibly count her celebrity admirers on one hand. Her elegant, feminine silhouettes, sumptuous fabrics and beautiful colours have earned her a very loyal following. But there's nobody more devoted to her designs than the Duchess of Cambridge, who has worn Wickstead's dresses on a number of occasions, including this past Sunday for the Easter service at St. George's Chapel in Windsor.
Happily for us, this collab is much more affordable than Wickstead's mainline, which includes shoes for around £500. These slippers are £140, which will no doubt be music to the ears of the designer's many fans.
It goes without saying that, as a result of all this, the collection is selling quickly. Perhaps K-Mid is shopping as we speak?
