In case you hadn't noticed, Y2K trends are dominating social media at the moment. From the return of UGG boots to the butterfly renaissance nobody saw coming, there are plenty of noughties looks which are enjoying a comeback. One person who predicted such an event is none other than Britney Spears, who as early as May this year posted a fashion flashback to some of her most memorable looks from the early Noughties. 'Bringing it back to the 2000s when everything was simpler before social media!!!!' she posted earlier this year, 'Should I bring these outfits back?' Yes Britney! Yes, you should!
Among the outfits she chose for her trip down memory lane were a pair of baby pink fringe (and flared) chaps and the famously shorn-off crop tops she used to wear in her denim cut-offs phase. They also included are some of the looks that came to define the era of Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, The OC and, of course, Spears herself. L
Labels and logos were back in as the minimalism of the '90s was shelved for something perhaps not as tasteful but certainly more fun. And Spears, as the queen of teen pop and a movie star in the making, was definitely having fun with fashion, whether she was dressed in a pair of snake-print trousers or a having a glamazon moment at the Grammy Awards.
