It’s only been a matter of days since Emily Ratajkowsi’s rumoured relationship with Pete Davidson came to and end, but the internet has already begun debating who he will be setting his sights on next.
According to TikToker's, that's starlet of the moment Jenna Ortega, who’s currently starring as Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s adaptation ofThe Addams Family. Sure, they might make good candidates for Dated or Related?, and there’s a nine-year age gap between them, but the internet has spoken and decided it's official: Pete and Jenna are the next It couple.
Except, they’re not. Well, they might be – social media conspiracies do have a habit of coming true – but extensive research has found that this particular rumour around Pete’s love life is actually based on nothing at all. No pictures of them together, no rumoured TMZ dates, not even an Instagram 'like' to go off. As is often the way, the unverified social media narrative has been amplified way above the actual truth, and now everyone is looking around and asking, ‘Wait, where did this all start?’ One user has even gone so far as to photoshop the two of them together, adding to the confusion.
‘The way the internet has some of my irls fully believing Pete Davidson and Jenna Ortega are dating,’ laughed on Twitter user.
But regardless of whether it’s true or not, the really weird bit is that people seem completely outraged by the possibility. Men in particular feel personally slighted that Pete manages to pull and endless stream of ridiculously hot women and continue to lash out at his looks, with one TikToker comparing him to Wednesday’s Uncle Fester (rude, tbh).
On Twitter someone wrote, ‘For the love of God, keep Pete Davidson away from Jenna Ortega,’ and another said, ‘Me praying on Pete Davidson’s downfall after hearing about Jenna Ortega.’
Another joked (presumably), ‘Pete Davidson I challenge you to a one on one hand to hand fight to the death for the hand of Jenna Ortega.’
It’s not often we get to see the insecurity of men so brazenly channelled into criticizing another man’s looks (side note: Pete is hot, deal with it) but there’s evidently something about Pete that riles blokes up the wrong way.
