One wouldn't say Naomi Campbell is entirely unused to the 'diva' moniker... however, one would say she appears to be a consummate professional. Which we're sure she is – unless you count her cameo role in an early episode of Absolutely Fabulous that is.
At a recent lunch hosted by Cosmopolitan for Joanna Lumley and Jenifer Saunders – ahead of the Ab Fab: The Movie premier in the States – Joanna revealed that Naomi had turned up on set (back in the day in 1995) roughly three – hours – late.
Now, some might say that's just normal for super-SUPER-model, right? Not a complaint was made and the team just launched into action as if she'd arrived on time, correct?
Non!
Joanna went on to reveal how Naomi then got a ticking off from, not the director, no, but the floor manager! As pagesix.com reported, Joanna recalled he'd told the model: 'You’re working with a lot of very professional actresses. They all pitched up on time, and they know their lines. Darling, you’ll do that tomorrow, or you’re out.'
So the next day, she pitched up at 9am – on time. 'So maybe in her past, nobody’s ever asked her to be on time,' Jennifer Saudners added. 'They just expected her to be a diva.'
When quizzed about the professionalism of Kate Moss, however, during the filming of the current movie, Joanna and Jennifer had nothing but praise for her work ethic. During the part where she did her own stunt, Kate apparently told staff members who rushed to bring her hot tea and blankets: 'Listen, if this was a photo shoot, they’d just say, ‘Stop fXXking shivering!'
What a woman!
