Made In Chelsea'sRuby Adlerand her boyfriend Nicohlas Sinclair went through a very scary ordeal after a toxic gas leak in her home. The reality star detailed the terrifying incident through a series of posts on her Instagram stories. She explained that the pair were at home when her carbon monoxide alarm went off. Shortly after, an ambulance turned up to see if the pair were suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning.

On her Instagram she wrote, 'Last night was really scary... our carbon monoxide alarm went off and the fire brigade immediately turned up. They used a reader to detect high carbon monoxide levels in our house.' The pair were then whisked to A&E for further blood tests.

Ruby has since assured her followers they are both fine after being given the all-clear to head home, but urged her followers to have a carbon monoxide alarm fitted. She told her followers, 'I wanted to share this with you all to highlight how important it is to make sure. Carbon monoxide is a gas that can kill you quickly and is called the 'silent killer' because it is colourless, odourless, tasteless and non-irritating.' Ruby admitted that the alarm 'saved their lives' after it detected the toxic gas leak. 'I can't stress enough to anyone reading this, how important it is to get a carbon monoxide alarm in your house.'

Although the pair left unscathed, they were advised that it could have easily been a very different outcome. She explained, 'We were told if we had left it much longer and we were exposed to a lot more carbon monoxide the outcome would have been very different.' She added: 'Very thankful we are both fine... Last night everything seemed trivial bar being healthy... I'm feeling very grateful for the NHS today. Sending love to everyone.'

According to the NHS, 'Carbon monoxide gas is colourless and does not smell, so you cannot tell if it is around you. If you're poisoned by too much exposure to the gas you can become extremely unwell. Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include headache, dizziness feeling sick or being sick.'

The NHS official advice if you think you may have carbon monoxide poisoning is: stop using appliances you think might be making carbon monoxide (such as a boiler, cooker or heater) if you can, open any windows and doors to let fresh air in. Also, go outside and get medical advice as soon as possible – do not go back into the affected building until you have got advice.

If you think a gas appliance is leaking carbon monoxide, call the free National Gas Helpline immediately on 0800 111 999.

The last time we saw Ruby on Made In Chelsea, she was single and dating in Baliafter ending a turbulent eight-year relationship with Reza Amiri-Garroussi. However, it seems she is now loved up with model Nicholas. He is signed with Storm Models, the agency Ruby has worked at since 2017.
