Amy Hart has welcomed her first child - a baby boy - with boyfriend Sam Rason.
The couple - who went public with their relationship in August 2021 - announced the happy news on Instagram yesterday (Tuesday 7 March).
Underneath a carousel of delivery room photos, the caption began, 'Well… four days of contractions at home (which everyone told us were Braxton Hicks…they weren’t), four very short hours in the delivery suite and five long days in hospital later, we are home with our dreamy baby boy.'
The sweet post went on to reveal that he was born at 3.31am on 3 March - weighing 8lbs - with the 'most beautiful head of hair'.
'Proper introductions to come but now we’re home safe and sound,' the message concluded. 'Thank you to everyone who sent their well wishes. We really appreciated it over the last few days. Here are a few delivery room snaps, can’t wait to show you his beautiful, non-post-birth swollen face.'
30-year-old Amy - who found stardom on Love Island in 2019 - and tech entrepreneur Sam have been swamped with congratulatory messages from fellow ITV2 stars, such as Maura Higgins, Shaughna Phillips and Olivia Attwood.
The new parents have also taken to their Instagram Stories with sweet updates.
Former air hostess Amy wrote, 'We would have announced sooner but wanted to wait until we were all 100% well and home from hospital. Got home late this afternoon.'
Sam's update read, 'After a long 4.5 days, we have our baby boy home. He is a handsome little boy with more hair than me!' He then tagged Amy with the message, 'I love you.'
In another segment on his Story, the new dad shared a close-up of his son with the message, 'Thanks so much for the kind messages. I'll reply to everyone when I get a moment.
'For now, I'm enjoying our first evening at home together as a three. It's a surreal feeling becoming a father. I didn't know what to think the moment he arrived. I was probably in shock! Then he cuddled up to me on my chest and suddenly all of the emotions kicked in and I can't stop picking him up for cuddles.'
Ending on a jokey note, he said, 'Plus as everyone gives me grief for taking my shirt off, skin to skin was obviously going to be my new best hobby!'
Amy's happy ending with Sam comes after her unlucky-in-love spell on Love Island almost four years ago.
She spent much of her time in the villa coupled up with Curtis Pritchard, who she later became the 'half-girlfriend' of after growing closer and closer to him.
But it ended in heartbreak when Amy discovered that his head had turned for Casa Amor bombshell Jourdan Riane, which ultimately led to the demise of their relationship.
'I thought I’d met my first love and "the one" and it turns out I haven’t. I’m someone’s backup plan yet again,' she cried at the time.
After days of heartache, Amy made the decision to leave the villa when Curtis hit it off with Maura.
She bravely told her former love, 'Realistically for you, you will not be happy all the time here because you’ll always put me first because you’re such a good person.
'That’s why I love you so much and that’s why I want you to be happy. You are not going to be happy whilst I’m still here. So, I’m leaving today but it’s a positive thing because I’m going to go and start the rest of my life today.'
And that she did.
