It has been claimed that Amy Hart’s heartbreak - and subsequent exit - on Love Island was partly down to producers telling Maura to flirt with Curtis. But bosses have slammed these reports, telling MailOnline that the relationships which happen in the villa are completely organic.

A TV source told The Sun, ‘Amy was utterly distraught when Curtis ended their relationship but her emotions were really put through the mill when Maura hooked up with him. The fact show bosses made it happen is tough for her to take as they clearly weren’t fussed about her feelings.’

(Before their time in the villa, Curtis had direct messaged Maura on Instagram.)

A Love Island spokesperson said in response to the reports, 'This is untrue. The opinions the Islanders have, decisions they make and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves.'

'Maura has revealed she has had her eye on Curtis since she first entered the villa but didn't want to step on toes and make a move when he was still in a half-relationship with Amy,’ a source told MailOnline. ‘She has since opened up in the villa about her feelings for him and her desire to see whether a romance might flourish between them.'
