Kanye West has revealed the story behind his decision to buy his first ever mobile phone - and predictably, it was for the most Kanye reason ever.
In a teaser clip for the final episode of his sister-in-law Khloé Kardashian's TV show, Kocktails With Khloé, the rapper and part time Twitter storm explained that he first joined the digital age in 2011, when he bought a cell phone to text future wife Kim Kardashian - and warn her that she was about to make a terrible mistake by marrying basketball player Kris Humphries. Yep, this means that Kanye has probably never known the joy of playing Snake 2, or composing a polyphonic ringtone.
'I got a phone because somebody decided they wanted to marry Kris Humphries,' the rapper explained. 'I wasn't up to anything, and I looked on the internet, and there was Kim Kardashian with some extremely tall person, and I was like, I need to call her or something.'
Luckily, Kanye was soon to embrace the marvels of twenty-first century technology, and quickly got up to speed with picture messaging. 'I started sending her pictures of certain basketball players that used to be cool, that now wear their pants all the way up to here. Like, "This is your future!"'
It's a truly modern love story, and as we all know, Kanye's weird form of flirting paid off in the end. Kim's marriage to Kris Humphries (he of the ill-fated family trip to Bora Bora) famously ended after 72 days, and is now a mere footnote in Kimye's glorious history. In the episode, Khloé even announces that she 'forgot about the Humphries marriage.' Ouch - who could forget that wedding double bill of KUWTK?
Kim and Kanye are joined round Khloé's dinner table by new parents John Legend and Chrissy Teigen - are those slices of pineapple we spot on your table, Khloé? How very retro.
