How To Apply A Nude Lip Like Victoria Beckham

When it comes to festive lip looks, most imagine a spectrum of deep crimson, plum and berry red shades, whether in lipstick, gloss or stain form. Not Victoria Beckham, though. The designer and beauty brand founder sticks to what she knows best over Christmas - nude lip shades. They're a big part of her signature look after all.

Victoria has been making a case for signature nude lip and smoky eye combination since her Spice Girls days. 'I wouldn't have been Posh Spice without a smoky eye and a picture perfect nude lip', she previously told InStyle.

This weekend Victoria took to Instagram to reveal her go-to Christmas make-up look and, no surprises here, it features a nude lip. In the video, Victoria shows avid @victoriabeckhambeauty followers how to apply the look she made iconic. MVP in this instance is Victoria Beckham Beauty's Lip Definer in No.2, £20, which she apparently rarely leaves the house without, and the Victoria Beckham Beauty Bitten Lip Tint Amour, £32,which she loves for its staying power.

'It just feels so right for this time of the year,' says VB in her video, 'when I'm going to have a little bit more of a sparkly eye - I might be using my new Kajal eyeliners - I want a more muted lip.'

VB kicks off proceedings by taking her go-to lip liner around the perimeters of her lips to make them look fuller, before using the same liner to colour the whole lip in lightly. Pros know this trick well - liners tend to have much more staying power than lipsticks or gloss, so using all-over colour as as base lends your final lip look enviable staying power.

Victoria makes sure to draw a straight line across her cupids bow, a volume-boosting lip trick we know J Lo favours, too. She finishes it all off with a good coating of her Bitten Lip Tint.

If you're not a red lip obsessive and never will be, swerve a traditional Christmas lip and give VB's nude lip a whirl instead.
