Molly-Mae Hague might be renowned for her near waist-length platinum blonde hair, but this week she debuted a much shorter hairstyle, and her loyal Instagram following - 6.2 million strong and counting - is reeling. Taking to her Instagram grid, the star revealed her newly-cut look with the caption: 'Assignment: SHORT SHORT'. The comment floodgates opened and Molly's fellow ex-Love-Islanders were first in line. Maura Higgins wrote, 'and we're here for it', Montana Brown left a trail of heart eye emojis and Laura Anderson responded, 'stop making me wanna cut my hair.'
The last time Molly-Mae went for a dramatically shorter look was April. She told Grazia, 'I went short because I wanted to try something a bit different. My followers are very used to my long, very blonde hair but I wanted to change it up.'

Molly was clearly eager for another hair makeover mere months later. Her new cut is ultra blunt and barely grazes her shoulders. The statement looks stands in stark contrast to the masses of tumbling waves that her followers have become used to seeing Molly sport daily.

That said, it's unlikely that Molly will commit fully to her new shoulder-length bob. The star has a penchant for hair extensions and last year told Grazia, 'when it comes to clip-in hair extensions it's taken me quite a while to master them. It's quite tricky to get the placement right when doing your own hair, it all comes down to practice'. Molly is well versed in all forms of hair extensions, it turns out. 'I've tried tapes and I've tried bonds, too. For me bond extensions are amazing because I love to have my hair in a bun a lot and in a high ponytail. They're very discreet.'
