Grazia’s Production Editor Maria O’Connor joined the magazine pre-launch in 2004 as senior sub editor, and has been with the brand ever since. A magazine addict in her teens, she went on to study journalism at LCP after graduating from Queens’ College, Cambridge with a master’s degree in English literature. Her first job was as a reporter on a fashion industry newspaper in Hong Kong, before returning to London to work as a deputy editor of a beauty industry publication. Then the glossies called and Mariastarted working on the production desk of health, beauty and fitness bible Zest, before heading off to the freelance world, where she did regular stints on Cosmo, Company, Good Housekeeping, Country Living, and The Mirror, among many other titles in between travelling. But the joys of freelancing were left behind for the excitement of joining the launch team of Grazia, and she’s never looked back.
