Containers spoilers for last night's RuPaul's Drag Race UK
If you found yourself in a difficult Zoom meeting this morning, at least you weren't in the talks at H&M HQ after last night's episode of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.
If you saw Twitter last night before watching RuPaul's Drag Race UK, you might've been confused by posts like these...
DON'T PANIC HIGH STREET LOVERS, it's just a joke, based on comments from RuPaul in last night's show.
Filming started again after seven months off because of covid restrictions - sadly Veronica Green was unable to return due to testing positive, so Joe Black was voted in for a second go at the crown.
After performing, Joe then annoyed Ru by admitting her dress wasfrom H&M.
Ru was furious and went off at all the queens, saying: ‘That outfit, off the rack, was a huge disappointment to me.
‘That’s what everyday people do, and you should know that because you are a star. This goes to all of you up here. If it is from H&M you better glitter the f**k out of it and make it something special.
We’re looking for Great Britain’s Next Superstar. Don’t waste my time. I don’t want to see any f**king H&M.’
While the internet mostly laughed their heads off, some did make a serious point about the fact that covid had decimated the drag industry.
Ru added: I came all the way across the pond. I want more. I want more!
‘Is that asking for too much? I don’t think so. I don’t think so. This is the biggest stage for drag in the world. This is the Eurovision of drag. So, I think we’ve heard enough.’
TBH any excuse for a Snooki meme, we're down.
H&M have yet to post about the situation on social media... but pretty much everyone else who watched the show got on it in the meantime...
There were some quintessentially British reactions of course too...
We, like you, love a bit of H&M. Which is fine, as we're not competing (most days) in 'the Eurovision of drag'.
