There’s no denying that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are reality TV legends. Their show The Simple Life – which saw the two wealthy socialites attempt to take on low-wage jobs purely for viewers’ entertainment – essentially catapulted the girls to international stardom and they became two of the first, and of course most iconic, reality stars.
21 years after the first episode of The Simple Life aired way back in December 2003, Paris and Nicole are reuniting for another reality TV series. Yep, you read it right – Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are back! The pair had been teasing their reunion on social media for a while by posting a series of throwback images together that reminded fans of their nicknames for each other: Sill and Bill. Eventually on 13 May, Nicole and Paris confirmed what we’d all be hoping for with an Instagram post captioned, ‘New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock.’
And now, the duo have been pictured filming for the reality TV show reboot in California. The best friends were clad in Sonic uniforms and heels as they got to work at the fast-food chain, before Nicole later changed into a hotdog costume to carry out her duties. It’s like they never left…
What is Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s new show about?
Speaking about her and Nicole’s secretive announcement on Good Morning America, Nicole shared, ‘It’s been 20 years since Paris and I worked together. We wanted to celebrate that. I can’t tell you too much right now, but we’ve worked together to create something very special and exciting.’
For her part, Paris has said of the series, ‘I'm so excited to be doing this with Nicole on Peacock. Nicole has been my best friend since we're 2 years old, every memory that I have is with her.
‘The Simple Life is such a special show and this is just going to be so iconic and I can't wait for fans to see.’
For those of you expecting The Simple Life 2.0, think again because the BFFs and streaming service Peacock have teased that the show will be an entirely new concept. As much as we’d love to see another reality show centring on the lives of Nicole and Paris, who are now both married and have children of their own – Nicole married singer Joel Madden in 2010 after welcoming daughter Harlow in 2008 and son Sparrow in 2009 whilst Paris married Carter Reum in 2021 before welcoming son Phoenix in January 2023 and daughter London in November 2023 - it hasn’t even been confirmed that the new show will be a reality series.
