Recouplings that end with a brutal dumping are part and parcel of Love Island, but there was particular outrage over who was left packing last night.
Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown's ill-fated journey in the villa wrapped up when Tom Clare chose to couple up with Ellie Spence, leaving her single and facing the door.
And as fans unite in annoyance, many of them are desperate for the model-cum-property presenter, 25, to return to the villa in a shock twist.
Before Wednesday night's recoupling, one viewer voiced hopes that, if dumped, Zara's future on the show would mirror that of Love Island Australia's series four winner, Claudia Bonifazio.
The medical secretary, 23, was dumped from the island on the second day when Holly Oakes-Ferguson stole her partner, Jordan Dowsett. But Claudia returned to the villa later that day with new boys Callum Hole and Tak Chipangura, and she then went on to win with Austen Bugeja.
This UK winter series has already had nods to Love Island Australia, in the form of bombshells Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters, so only time will tell whether we turn to the Aussies for plot twist inspiration.
Meanwhile, other fans are already fast-tracking their minds to the show's biggest 'test', Casa Amor, urging producers to 'do what's right' and bring Zara back as a bombshell again.
'If there’s no twist I’m fuming at the producers setting Zara up to get dumped. No other islander has provided more entertainment this season,' one aggrieved viewer ranted.
Another lauded the Londoner for 'single-handedly saving the series' and wasn't impressed with how she was 'repaid' for that.
If Zara was to return, it would be the first time a dumped Islander makes a comeback in the same series.
Last year, we saw the return of notorious bad boy Adam Collard, whose debut appearance came four years prior.
And in a much-hyped scene from 2016, Malin Andersson flew back to Spain to confront now ex-boyfriend Terry Walsh after he swiftly moved on with Emma-Jane Woodham following her exit.
The famous confrontation saw Malin berate Terry, slamming him with the line, 'You're muggy as f**k. I can see everything.'
Whether or not Zara struts back into the villa, we have no doubt the producers have twists and turns galore up the sleeve to keep us glued to the TV.
