It’s our favourite topic of conversation at the moment, consuming both our work and social lives and whilst Winter Love Island 2023 may have started out slow, Friday’s recoupling drama brought everything we expect from the iconic dating show.

And it turns out we’re not the only ones who think so… We caught up with resident ‘honeybun’ and Love Island alum Paige Thorne to analyse the series so far.

She tells Grazia, ‘It’s a bit of a stretch them bringing in Australian Love Islanders isn’t it? I know that they’ve got a show to do and that Jessie and Aaron brought plenty of drama in their own series of Love Island, but it defeats the whole purpose of the show. None of the contestants are going to want to get into a relationship with someone who lives on the other side of the world and has a massive time difference, no matter how much they may like them.’

Despite her doubts about the Australian bombshells’ intentions, Paige admits that Jessie is her favourite bombshell of the series so far saying, ‘Jessie is killing it. She’s so cute and I already really like her. I can’t wait to see more of her in the villa.’

Bombshell Jessie Wynter

Since entering the South African villa, it seems that Jessie Wynter has set her sights on Farmer Will which could cause some tension with Ron Hall, who’s admitted that his head could be turned away from Lana Jenkins yet again.

Speaking about that situation, Paige reveals that she has her doubts about Will’s success rate in the villa.

She jokingly says, ‘I’m sure he’s the perfect guy for someone out there, I’m just not completely convinced that he’s going to find that person on Love Island. He’s very sweet and I’m sure I’d be mates with him, there’s just not a lot of sexual appeal there for me. To be fair though, if I was in that villa I’d be waiting for the next bombshell because none of the boys have been my type so far!’

Paige continues, ‘As for Ron, he and Lana are my favourite couple at the moment. There are however a couple of things that he’s been saying that have raised some red flags with me. He’s giving off playboy vibes. Maybe I just like Ron and Lana as a couple because Lana’s my favourite and I just want her to be happy! She’s such a sweetheart and I’d definitely want to be her mate in the villa.’

Lots of people have been commenting how Love Island producers like to cast similar contestantseach year, making the case that Anna-May Robey and Paige are pretty similar. However, despite the obvious connection, Paige herself doesn’t see it.

She says, ‘I know we’re both brunette and from Swansea and she seems like a lovely girl but I really don’t see it. I think we have such different personalities. At this rate Tanya and I have got more in common because she keeps using my line ‘honeybuns’. I should have trademarked it!’
