Last night’s Casa Amor recoupling topped the list of most difficult to watch, almost every couple bar Ron and Lana rocked by some sort of cheating scandal. Where we’re usually treated to one or two shocking Casa couplings, the drama started early with Casey immediately choosing to stick with Claudia despite kissing not one, but two of the Casa Amor bombshells – and forming a quick bond with new girl Cynthia.
What followed was a confusing and hard-to-watch confrontation that viewers immediately began to pick apart. When Casey’s fling was revealed, Claudia was heard asking him ‘Was it deep?’ to which he replied ‘No.’ Then, amidst the fumbling of Cynthia crying and Claudia questioning Casey, something got lost in translation. Claudia had laughed at the end of a sentence that went unheard by her microphone (even with the subtitles on!), with the Casa girls immediately assuming she had mocked Cynthia crying.
‘I’m laughing at something else, I’m not laughing at you,’ Claudia said. ‘Don’t start… I’ve only just met you so just chill out.’
Immediately, with so much confusion about whether or not Claudia was laughing at Cynthia’s heartbreak, the viewing public turned on her. ‘I’m still so mad Claudia laughed at Cynthia and Casey was acting as if she was mad,’ one viewer tweeted. ‘Like you classless pieces of sh*t! Just keep a straight face while someone’s crying [and] people are fussing over her? And you think it’s right to laugh? Rat.’
So, what did Claudia actually say to Casey in the recoupling?
After what feels like 1000 rewinds, we can confirm, Claudia wasn’t actually mocking Cynthia when she muttered something to Casey. In fact, she said the following:
‘I didn’t even kiss anyone. One guy tried cuddling me in bed and I was like "get off me" [laughs]’
Perhaps it was a case of nervous laughter, or an attempt to soften the fact she was essentially chastising Casey for not staying loyal when she, in fact, did. But either way, it wasn’t about Cynthia.
One person has even managed to make the video sound even clearer, where you can hear Claudia for yourself:
Oh Casa, how you always confuse and traumatise our weary hearts.
