Remember a few days ago when we were debating whether Liberty Poole’s intervention from the girls was the most awkward Love Island moment of all time? Yeah, it’s not. After last night’s episode, there could only be one winner: the Love Island talent show.
From Faye Winter’s roast to Teddy Soares rap, there were more than a few moments that viewers confessed they had to mute the TV - we, however, simply passed away. Momentarily of course, because we simply had to consume all of the hilarious memes being shared online in response to the talent show.
So did everyone else apparently, with ‘Love Island talent show 2021’ a breakout search term on Google this morning. As masochistic viewers chose to rewatch the videos from last night’s episode, some were also fending for talent shows gone by – notably searching for ‘Love Island talent show 2020 and ‘Siannise and Luke dance Love Island’.
Perhaps there were some comparisons in order, since Luke Trotman and Siannise Fudge’s co-ordinated dance last year was probably the height of Love Island talent show history – as well as, of course, Sophie Gradon’s infamous speech about sexism in season two.
But more than ever, the Love Island talent show had everyone meming off particular moments since there was not one performance that didn’t warrant a chuckle (or, gritted teeth). From Millie Court’s hilarious keyboard recital – that had Liam confessing his LOVE for her, by the way – to Chloe Burrow’s deciding the square root of her maths equation was ‘fuck off’, the reactions were endless.
To brighten your morning, we’ve compiled them for you. So get ready to sit back and enjoy the worst – or best depending on how you look at it – talent show in Love Island history and all the memes it spawned, they might just revive all of the viewers still stuck in cringe-induced comas from watching it the first time…
