The aftermath of Casa Amor is far from over. In fact, things are going to get even more dramatic than they were in last night's episode. The producers have caught on to the fact that it's always hard to watch what some islanders get up to in Casa Amor and then see them return to their original partners as if nothing ever happened. So they've been taking notes.
The post-Casa recoupling was particularly tough in series seven when Liam Rearden betrayed Millie Court. After the recoupling, viewers felt for Millie so much that the producers set up a date between Millie and lookalike Lily (who Liam kissed in Casa Amor) to set the story straight. Although these things are often still salvageable – Liam and Millie got back together and famously went on to win the show – they cause a lot of chaos too.
As we all witnessed this series, several of the boys let their hair down in Casa Amor and then went back to their original partners hoping to pick up where they left off – namely Will, Tom and Casey. While Tanya let her hair down in Casa Amor too, she brought Martin back with her so we'll leave her out of the equation for now.
In tonight's episode, however, the producers wheel out their old tricks as Samie receives a shock text with news for some of the girls. The text reads: “Samie, Jessie and Claudia. Please get ready to leave the Villa as Cynthia, Layla and Lydia want to catch up #GetTheTea #NothingStaysAtCasa”
Olivia says: “It’s all going to come out now, boys’ holiday, secrets get spilled.”
So as Samie, Jessie and Claudia get ready to leave the villa, we can only predict what awaits them when they meet Cynthia, Lydia and Layla and find out exactly what went on during Casa Amor. We can guess that Jessie won't enjoy hearing the details about how close Will and Layla got, and assume that her amazingly calm initial response to Will's antics might not last. Although Samie got to know Ryan in Casa Amor, things never reached a physical level and she chose to stay loyal to Tom. So she might not be best pleased when she finds out about the 'difficult decision' he faced in choosing between her and Lydia. And as for Casey, things were early doors between him and Claudia before he left, but Cynthia did straddle him on the terrace and the pair got pretty cosy during Casa Amor – so much so that she seemed quite confident that she was going to be picked at the recoupling.
Will it be a friendly exchange? Will it change any of the girls' minds? We're not sure. All we know is that we hate seeing the girls left in the dark, this twist always goes down well with viewers, and that it was probably a female producer's idea. It might not be movie night just yet, but the tea is due to get spilt.
