Love Island Villa

Love Island has seen a lot of contestants come and go throughout its many seasons. But since series three of the summer show, there has been one consistent character that kept us coming back for more – the Love Island villa itself.

With its fire pits, bean bags, day beds and swimming pool, the sunny mansion has provided the location for every drama and reconciliation over the last four years.

From the toastie makers in the kitchen to the outdoor showers and gym areas, fans of the show have come to know the villa inside and out.

But reports from The Sun have now suggested that Love Island will be relocating for 2022. An insider told the paper: ‘Love Island moved from a location in Santanyi in Southern Majorca, which was its home for series one and two, to the current villa in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, in the north-east.

‘Bosses are conscious of the fact that this is also an opportunity to consider all the new elements they could introduce to enhance the show even further,’ they added. An ITV representative has also since confirmed to Metro that they are on the lookout for a new Love Island location.

This is huge news, and could indicate a serious switch up in the show’s format. When the series last moved locations for series three, they also introduced everybody’s favourite drama trigger - Casa Amor - into the mix.

Wherever the new Love Island villa may be, it’s going to be hard to forget the iconic moments that took place in the North Mallorca pad. In celebration of the last four year’s memories, here are Grazia’s funniest moments that took place in the Love Island villa.

Molly Mae falling down the stairs – series 5

We’ve always known those stairs were precarious and Molly Mae learnt that the hard way in series five when she took a tumble onto the wooden decking in her heels. While Tommy sweetly rushed to her aid, Maura was more concerned about spillage: ‘I can’t believe you’ve just wasted that wine,’ she chastised her as the other contestants laughed in the background.

Chloe telling Liberty she’s the table – series 7

The poolside chats in the villa will forever be one of the best parts of the show. And Chloe and Liberty really delivered in series five when discussing Jake’s negative energy in his relationship. ‘The main thing is whatever me or him are thinking, I know what I bring to the table,’ said Liberty. ‘You are the fucking table bruv,’ Chloe replied. Shakespeare.

Chris telling Olivia to sit back down – series 3

A lot of arguments have gone on in the Love Island bedroom and our favourite has to be when Chris told Olivia to ‘sit down’ in series three despite her evidently already being seated on the bed just centimetres away from him. ‘I’m sat,’ she replied deadpan, leaving Chris with no option but to stare at the floor in confusion.

Maura kicking off at Tom – series 5

The problem with such a spacious living space is you don’t know who’s listening to you and when. And nothing will ever top when Maura overheard Tom telling the boys he was interested to see whether she was ‘all mouth’ or not just moments before their date. Obviously, she pulled him in for a very heated chat, which left him floundering as he tried to deny the comment.

When Liberty got a hairbrush stuck in her hair – series 7

There was something really heart-warming about the girls all getting ready together each day in the villa. In series seven, it was especially sweet as the girls began to treat Liberty like their little sister. One morning, Faye was forced to step in when Liberty got her hair so tangled in a blow dry brush that she couldn’t escape. ‘My dad had to cut all the knobbly ends off my hairbrush once to do this when I was seven,’ said Faye. ‘I’m 21,’ laughed Liberty in response.

When Anna dragged Jordan to hell – series 5

From the fire pits to the white lounge areas, the Love Island villa has seen some serious spats and we couldn’t do a roundup of best moments without a smattering of drama. One of the most memorable sofa showdowns in recent years was when Anna confronted Jordan after she heard he was interested in India: ‘You know what you look like?’ she asked him. ‘A piece of shit. You ask a girl out to be your girlfriend and two days later you’re hitting on her.’ Classic.
