A UK edition of Love Is Blind may be in the works – that is, if one of the showrunners has anything to do with it. In a new interview, it was confirmed that producers would ‘100%’ be up for creating a second season on British soil, and yes, yes, 100 times yes.
In a new interview with Metro{
And when asked about whether that season could be shot in the UK, or if a separate UK version could be created, Coelen was more than enthusiastic. ‘Absolutely, 100%,’ he said. ‘Let’s make it happen, I’d love it.’
Now, as excited as we are, there is something to be said for the unique strain of American dramatics when creating a show like Love Is Blind. Would we get a Giannina Gibelli from Bristol? Would anyone ever open up about their childhood trauma or would we be subject to hours of conversations about how you pronounce ‘scone’? Where would they go on their holiday? Cornwall?!
Of course, given the success of previous UK dating shows we can’t say Love Is Blind UK wouldn’t be worth a watch – the concept alone is enough to get anyone to tune in. Hell, we watch shows where people literally decide whether to date based on the look of a strangers genitals in the UK.
Either way, whether it matches up to the exquisite TV of season one, we would love to see it.
