Carrie Bradshaw has many defining qualities: shoes, literary skills, a rent-controlled apartment… But the overriding one is a habit of reuniting with old flames. This time we think Aidan Shaw is officially back in the fold.
And Just Like Thathasn't even returned to our screens yet and we already have so many burning questions. Exhibit A: This newly released picture from set showing Aidan sitting at THE table for drinks with the girls. Yes, Aidan is pictured sitting comfortably between Carrie, Miranda Hobbs, Charlotte York- and Seema Patel is there too (which hopefully means we will be seeing more of her this season). But the one big question we all have is does this cosy meet up mean Carrie and Aidan are officially back together? Fans seem to think so.
To be given a seat at the table at one of the girls ICONIC dinner and drinks dates is quite the honour. From this picture alone fans are convinced that their relationship must be serious this season. If our memory is correct, Mr Big was never invited for coffee with the girls. This could a very telling sign of how close the two become this season. However, many have also pointed out that Aidan is smoking in the picture. This is quite an ironic move from him considering he basically pressured Carrie to stop smoking. We wonder what has changed in all those years...
Now, we have mixed feeling about this reunion. Aidan is a fan favourite and it makes sense for them to reunite. When theSex and The Cityreboot hit our screens we wanted nothing more than for Aidan to return. But is Carrie good for him? Although he had some negative qualities ( like forcing Carrie to quit smoking,) she never really gave him the attention he deserved. The words 'YOU BROKE MY HEART!' he yelled after Carrie cheated on him with Mr Big, still haunts us to this day.
If you need a reminder of Carrie and Aidan's tumultuous relationship we have all the facts. After two failed tries at making their relationship work and that kiss in Abu Dhabi, it seemed as if there was no hope that these two would try again. Aidan was married to a fellow furniture designer and Carrie had Mr Big. Mr. Big died in Season 1 leaving Carrie back on the New York City singles scene. In the new season surely the fate of Aidan’s wife will be revealed...
Just last month a picture was released of of Carrie and Aidan strolling through Manhattan, hand in hand. We just can't keep up! Perhaps the producers are sending us on a wild goose chase on purpose to keep us guessing. Only time will tell...
