EE BAFTA 2023 Nominations: The Full List Of Film Nominees

The BAFTA’s are nearly here! The 76th annual EE British Academy Film Award ceremony honour the best of British film over the past year. The show will be hosted by British actor Richard E Grant and presenter Alison Hammondwill take the lead in the BAFTA Backstage Studio. Grant said, 'I feel hugely privileged to be hosting the EE Bafta's for the first time and the opportunity to celebrate the very best of the extraordinary range of this year's films.' This year the show will be broadcast from the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall.

All Quiet On The Western Front leads the nominations with 14 nods, including Best Film. Edward Berger's Netflix film depicts a young German soldier's terrifying experience in the trenches during WWI. Joining All Quiet on the Western Front on the list are Martin McDonagh’s black comedy The Banshees of Inisherin, Baz Luhrmann’s biopic Elvis, the Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once and Todd Field’s drama, Tár.

The Best actress category includes Cate Blanchett for her performance in Tár, Viola Davis for her powerful role in The Woman King, Ana de Armas for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in Blondeand Golden Globe winner Michelle Yeoh from Everything, Everywhere All At Once.

Whilst only one female director is nominated, the outstanding debut category - recognising writing, directing or producing - is made up entirely of female nominees, including Aftersunwriter and director Charlotte Wells, and Good Luck To You, Leo Grande writer Katy Brand.

Nominees for the 2023 EE Rising Star Award– voted for by the public – were announced on Tuesday, with Naomi Ackie (Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody), Sheila Atim (The Woman King), Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education),Emma Mackey (Sex Education) and Daryl McCormack (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) making the list.

Alongside this year’s EE Rising Star nominee Daryl McCormack, four former EE Rising Stars are nominated: Carey Mulligan (2010); Eddie Redmayne (2012); Barry Keoghan (2019) and Micheal Ward (2020).

When are the BAFTA's 2022?

The 76th British Academy TV And Film Awards will take place on 19 February 2023.

Where can I watch the BAFTA's?

The EE BAFTA award ceremony will be broadcast on BBC from 7pm to 9pm in the UK and globally. Viewers will also be able to tune in live or catch-up later on BBC iPlayer. Viewing details for U.S. audiences have yet to be announced, but in 2022, proceedings streamed on BritBox.

Also, Film critic Ali Plumb and broadcaster Vick Hope will co-host the red carpet show.
