Probably because we're all sat at home with nothing much else to do, lockdown has been a rich time for memes.
We've done Karens, Chanels, Last Photos in Phones and a million screengrabs of us on Houseparty (remember those?) And this week it's the turn of the 'My plans... 2020' meme.
The meme, which is probably self-explanatory to most of us who have lived 2020 so far, is that one picture, first, shows a picture of idealism and hope - the second the way it's either been destroyed or thwarted. In some cases the second picture is just a way more rubbish version of the first.
And most of them involved your favourite pop culture moments. So you might have Macaulay Culkin in My Girl.... and then some bees. Or you might have Leonardo Di Caprio living it up in The Great Gatsby... and then him being eaten by a bear in The Revenant.
Hmmm... maybe with memes it's one of those things where the more you explain it, the less it makes sense?
