On last night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, Naughty Boy caused a stir. After losing his trial against Snoochie Shy, the music producer decided to leave the reality TV show after concluding that his other campmates were only in it for themselves.

At the start of the episode, the celebrities were split into two camps (main camp and the clink), with those in the clink forced to live in less desirable conditions and do the washing of the main camp. Naturally, there was already resentment, but Naughty Boy’s aversion to the other celebrities in main camp purely because they won the trial for meals was certainly a novel one.

‘I’ll tell you right now they are not our friends,’ he told his fellow clink campmates after returning from the trial. ‘There’s no love there.’ When asked if he was definitely going to leave, he told Richard Madeley ‘I only do things led by my heart, I can’t then suddenly join a camp that don’t give a shit about us.’

Now, Naughty Boy is trending on Google, with everyone asking: Does naughty boy leave I’m a Celebrity?

So, does Naughty Boy leave I’m A Celebrity?

Well, eagle-eyed viewers will have noticed that during the live segment of the reality show which showed the celebrities after joining camps, Naughty Boy was still very much there. Given that his main reason for leaving was because he didn’t want to live among the main camp celebrities, we can assume he changed his mind before the camps combined.

But the question still remains why Naughty Boy took the trial results so personally, with some wondering if there is more than meets the eye with his emotional turmoil right now. In fact, one of the breakout search terms for the music producer is ‘Is there something wrong with Naughty Boy?’

According to the family members running his social media while he’s in the camp, it does appear as though Naughty Boy is struggling with personal issues.

‘If only everyone knew what he’s battling on the outside world,’ a tweet from his account read. ‘His mum (my nan) is battling dementia and he has been taking care of her for the last 5 years. This is the first time he has left her to do something life-changing! He is just overwhelmed and he will be fine.’

‘Everyone loses their patience from time to time and it’s difficult when he’s in a vulnerable position too,’ another tweet read. ‘Easy to judge on the outside when he is going through a whirlwind of emotions... we are all rooting for him.’

With that in mind, it’s worth empathising before judging Naughty Boy for apparently taking the competition ‘too personally’ – as was the narrative online last night. While many would agree that it’s unreasonable to dislike the other celebrities simply for winning a trial, this is a man likely tired, hungry and struggling to cope with leaving his family – it’s no wonder he wants someone to cut him a break.
