Unless you've been in a deliberate social media blackout through the Bank Holiday (no judgement - we were all getting twitchy over the 'suns out funs out' captions by Monday) you probably now know that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed a baby boy into their family yesterday.
Naturally, we're all very excited about the latest royal addition (none of us more than Prince Harry - who has delivered us the gift of our what is possibly our favorite post-royal baby announcement ever).
But what about all of the other babies who now share a birthday with the newest monarch? In fact, in all the excitement - you might be forgiven for having missed the fact thatAmy Schumer gave birthon the same day as Meghan Markle, welcoming a boy with her husband Chris Fischer yesterday evening. And safe to say, her comments about the coincidence are giving us sheer joy.
Schumer and Fischer announced the news via an Instagram post, writing "10:55pm last night [03:55 BST on Monday]. Our royal baby was born." underneath a picture of the couple with their newborn at a hospital in New York.
Now, Amy Schumer has revealed the name of her new addition is 'Gene Attell Fischer' - and she's done it before Meghan and Harry reveal theirs!
Sharing a birth date with a royal baby could be seen as a mixed bag - on one hand, you're never going to struggle to find merchandise with your offspring's birth date on it, but on the other hand - could it be a bit of a thunder steal for everyone on social media to be talking about a different baby on the day you give birth?
Luckily, Amy Schumer has handled the clash with the royal birth with her trademark sense of humour the whole way through her pregnancy (we would expect nothing less from the undisputed queen of comedy). In fact - she's even proved that she's been in on the joke long before we were. When she initially made the couple's pregnancy announcement in October last year by posting a photo with the couple's faces photoshopped on to Meghan and Harry's bodies.
Just when we thought we couldn't love her any more, she also pulled an opportunistic joke about the Met Gala as she was on her way to the hospital (which was also held yesterday evening - and no with everything that's going on we can't keep up with our social media feeds or Whatsapp chats right now either). Posing on the steps on the Metropolitan museum, where the annual Met Gala is held, Amy wrote 'Met look this year. Last night on the way to the hospital'
Amy Schumer, we can only salute you (and congratulate the latest addition to the Schumer/Fischer clan). With shared birthdays and Meghan and Harry reportedly sizing up properties in America is there any chance we could be seeing the two couples getting together for playdates?
