The Reaction To Amy Schumer’s Pregnancy Announcement Is Not OK

Amy Schumer has announced her pregnancy in the most Amy Schumer way ever.

The actor and comedian posted a picture of her and husband Chris Fischer’s heads photoshopped onto the bodies of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – with Meghan holding her bump in THAT now sold out Reformation Pineapple Dress.

She captioned the picture; ‘About to announce some exciting news on @jessicayellin insta page. Please follow her for up to the minute #newsnotnoise she breaks down what’s really going on. She agreed to post a lil noise today for me! Follow her and VOTE!!’

Talk about marketing genius! Once people headed over to journalist Jessica Yellin’s Instagram Stories they found a list of Schumer’s recommendations for the upcoming US midterm elections, and the final point on the list read; ‘I’m pregnant – Amy Schumer.’

Using a pregnancy announcement to draw attention to an important issue – bravo Amy Schumer! Unfortunately some people were not so supportive of her news.

As news sites started reporting on the actor’s pregnancy, the comments came in thick and fast; ‘someone actually touched her?’ wrote one Facebook commenter, ‘So when she was getting “arrested” a few weeks ago she could’ve been carrying? What a way to start motherhood,’ wrote another on Instagram, ‘Wow, Im amazed someone could stand being in the same room with you long enough to get you pregnant! Well done I suppose. I do somewhat feel sorry for the kid already…’ tweeted a third in response to the news.

You don’t need to read many more of the comments to sense the theme; Amy Schumer is not ‘attractive/responsible/good’ enough to have a child.

Schumer is known to be quite vulgar, raw and open in her comedy, she has also been very outspoken about topics such as gun control and body image. She was arrested along with model Emily Ratajkowski and 300 others earlier this month as they protested to challenge Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.‏
