It’s one of many accidental video walk-ins that have plagued celebrities doing live content…

Alfonso Merlos

A Spanish news anchor is at the centre of a live video controversy after a half-naked woman appeared in the background of a YouTube Live video he was hosting called State of Alarm (Estado de Alarma). Alfonso Merlos was apparently dating Big Brother Spain star Marta Lopez at the time, however the woman in the video was clearly not her.

Hosting the live video on his YouTube channel last week, Merlos was presenting a report when a woman walked through the room wearing only a bra. Viewers quickly noted that the woman was Alexia Rivas, a fellow journalist, and not his girlfriend at the time.

Keeping quiet on the reports in the days after the gaffe, Merlos appeared on Spanish talk-show The Ana Rose Show to clear up speculation this week. Claiming that he and Lopez were broken up, he admitted he had been seeing Rivas for a few weeks but that he was single at the time they started dating.

‘If you think that my attitude has not been correct or that there are things that I have not done well, I have no problem asking for forgiveness, although my goal was not to harm someone else,’ he said on the show.

Rivas also commented on the story, telling Socialite ‘I didn’t get into a relationship, he told me he was single. We have been [seeing each other] three weeks.’

However, Lopez has since spoken out herself insisting that the pair were not broken up when the video was live and had simply taken four days apart after an argument. Calling the incident ‘shameful’ and ‘unpleasant’ she said the couple had been in lockdown together since the 12th of March before she decided to take some time away.

‘I had been mad at Alfonso for four days,’ she told Spanish outlet Lecturas. ‘He didn’t want me to do something that affected my family. I did it, and he got mad. We argue.’

Honestly, this is all very 2020 Ross and Rachel…

During a Facebook Live session where Trinny shared some her beauty secrets, partner Charles accidently crashed her video walking through the bathroom into the shower fully naked. Yes, seriously. What makes it all the more funnier? Trinny was wearing an LED light mask at the time of filming and so was seemingly unaware that the gaffe had even happened.

One of the biggest celebrity upsets of quarantine was when Vanessa Hudgens went on IG Live on what seemed like a particularly rough night and made insensitive comments about the death toll. 'Even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible... but inevitable?"' she said.

Stormi Webster made one of the cutest IG Live pop-ups, strolling into her dad Travis Scott's live performances to ask what he was doing. 'Look, Daddy! Daddy!' she shouted seeing her fathers face on the screen. I mean, we're obsessed.

Demonstrating her lockdown workout routines, Rita Ora had a particularly painful moment of her IG Live when she jumped up to perform a squat jump and banged her head on the ceiling. 'Why am I so stupid?' she laughed afterwards.

Demi Lovato accidentally confirmed her relationship with actor and singer Max Ehrich in quarantine after walking into the background of one of his IG Live performances. 'I'm on live,' Ehrich is seen whispering to her before she looks shocked and puts a towel up to cover her face.

Will Reeve6 of 7

Will Reeve

ABC news anchor Will Reeve made one of the funniest gaffes of quarantine when he appeared on the news via video link seemingly wearing no trousers. Dressed in a suit jacket and tie, he confirmed afterwards he was wearing shorts as opposed to underwear - but we're not sure that's much more professional tbh, Will.

The Commonwealth Secretary General appeared on BBC News for a serious update on how women are being adversely affected by Covid-19. While giving the statistics, a man appears in the background to put a flag behind her, only to slowly disappear from the frame and reappear again as he looks through the window behind her. It might not be the most dramatic gaffe, but it certainly got a few laughs on Twitter.
